Description
aunched at the Frankfurt in 1969, the Daytona features a body designed by Pininfarina and built by Scaglietti, and introduces Leonardo Fioravanti’s famed shark-nose design. The model was nicknamed “Daytona” in honor of the company’s dominating 1-2-3 finish at the 1967 24 Hours of Daytona has become a point of legend. It is powered by a 4.4-liter Colombo V12 engine that produces 352 bhp at 7500 rpm. Originally a right-hand-drive coupe, this car has been professionally converted to a Spider and is one of only 158 UK right-hand-drive examples from a total production of 1,284 cars.
The striking Daytona GTS/4 Spider, endowed with purity of line and stance, was instantly collectible, with only 121 examples were produced. As the final front-engined open Ferrari to feature a derivation of Gioacchino Colombo’s classic short-block V-12, the Daytona spider was the ultimate evolution of 20 years of development, the final hereditary successor of a generation of vintage Ferraris. As the original Spider is very rare, with only 7 RHD cars, many Berlinettas have been converted to Spider form at various times.
This exceptional right-hand-drive Daytona Spider conversion was one-owner from new until 2008 and was once owned by famed radio DJ and TV presenter Chris Evans. This Spider remains in excellent driver-quality condition, with its classic Rosso Corsa finish still presenting well.
