2003 BMW M3

BMW M3 E46 2003 Convertible SMG, hardtop & all options & CSL brakes & Miltek exhaust & detailed service history.

Car was manufactured 11/2002, but registered in 2003 in UK. It is pre face lift model, but with genuine BMW led rear lights and air con panel replaced for newer.

Mileage of the car is 96,603 miles.

This is my very loved M3 I owned nearly 8 years. It’s fully loaded with options in Carbon Schwartz (carbon black) colour (dark blue metallic) with black, still original, nappa leather interior, titanium shadow interior trim which I wrapped in alcantara and a black soft-top roof looking almost new and in perfect condition. Car comes with hardtop and wind deflector ordered with a car at time of purchase in 2003.

During my ownership the car was always garaged and driven in a dry days only. Never driven in the winter time.

- The private number plate "M13 GLN" IS INCLUDED with the sale. I have them made in German style font – officially illegal, but never had any issues and one penalty ticket for speeding found my address without any problems.

- Car is HPI clear and I have owned the car for nearly 8 years. I didn’t have any plans to sell it anytime soon, but my circumstance has changed. Previous owner, who also looked after Glen (cars name) and kept detailed service history, had the car for 6 years and after the transaction we kept contact and became friends.

- Three keys (including the grey key) are supplied with the car along with the original BMW owner manuals in the BMW pouch/holder and paper work and lots and lots invoices.

- To upgrade the interior, I have wrapped all trims and windscreen surrounding in alcantara. SMG gear knob is brand new with alcantara gaiter, handbrake cover also in alcantara. The armrest and handbrake/cup holder surround wrapped in black nappa leather. New genuine BMW ashtray fitted (thy are always scratched for some reason).

- STORM Motorwerks sterring wheel paddles upgrade, steering wheel bottom wrapped in alcantara and airbags replaced by BMW (recall)

- Upgraded sound system – all old technology junk removed from the boot, Audison amplifier installed in the place of tyre compressor along with Audison processor hidden in the place of old Bluetooth unit. Pioneer rear speakers, Hertz MPK 165P.3 Mille Pro 2 way speakers front door and JL 8’’ subwoofer fitted in sound box dedicated for M3 vert. Audison processor has an extended USB cable with an easy access without needing to remove the trims. Used Dodo deadening mats on doors and back qtrs (lots of photos). Fitted Xtrons double din unit designed for M3 e46 with USB hidden in glovebox.

- Car runs on 'M3 CSL' 255 spec software with rev match and makes a real difference with the SMG2 cars! It pops gently over 4000 rpms. It completes gear changes super quickly. Oil in the gearbox was replaced by the previous owner.

- Car has new Hankook tyres on the rear and healthy Kumho on the front axle. Spacers fitted on front and rear axle (kept old bolts). Brakes are like new, with CSL genuine rotors and Hawk pads - they don’t create brake dust whatsoever!

- MOT expires 27th August 2026.

- Exterior body work has been professionally detailed, front bumper was ceramic coated along with alloy wheels (only one small chip on one alloy) and exhaust tips. I always wash the car with 2 buckets and with a usage of proper car cosmetics. Soft top treated with Auto Finesse dedicated products and rubbers treated with Gummi-pflege once a year.

- During my ownership the front was rebuilt – new headlamp lenses, all new bright bulbs and xenon bulbs from Auto Beam, new front and side indicator Hella lamps, fog lights replaced with Morimoto projectors (match the colour of the xenons), all new fixings and grommets OEM and the rear bumpers were re-sprayed along the side trims with new grommets.

- Genuine and in perfect condition BMW black windbreaker with bag included (fitted it only once to check if it works).

- Hardtop in Carbon Black with Black Piano trim is included along with stand and cover.

- Car is supplied with TWO COVERS - one of the best outside covers available - Hamilton luxury tailored 5-layer fleece lined car cover and one indoor cover from Richbrook.

The car is simply in outstanding condition inside and out, all owners have treated this car with love and care/respect. I spent three months finding this car before buying and the previous owner spent four months too. I saw a lot of bad/abused M3s which this is not!

- Many people complain about E46 M3 brakes not being great - This car has all nearly new brakes: Ceramic compound front & rear pads and larger BMW CSL front disks fitted for awesome stopping power if you need it.

- Many people complain about E46 M3 exhausts being raspy and too quiet, also the OEM exhaust has an issue where the built-in clamps holding the exhausts together fails as its steel and cracks - This car has a Miltek stainless steel centre and rear exhaust system and it sounds awesome; not too loud, just right for this M3 and lets the car breath so much better. Previous owner spent ages choosing this system as he did not want it sounding boy racer.

- Many people have confirmed the rear view LCD mirror has a defect and eventually leaks onto the centre console damaging it - this has been replaced and so the LCD will not leak like the original mirrors do.

Summary of important work done:

- It had a new clutch, dual mass flywheel and release bearing installed (~69,000 miles) – previous owner replaced them only to ensure SMG2 gearbox remained in top condition.

- Wheels refurbished in a 'Super Shiny Silver' metallic colour (they could be diamond cut but I prefer not to do this to ensure the wheels remain strong).

- New Hankook tyres have been fitted back, these tyres are great on the M3.

- It has had Inspection II service done along with rocker cover gasket and new coil pack in April 2026 at 96,464 miles

- It has had the BMW CSL front discs, Hawk pads & sensors replaced - all brand new front brakes installed (~87,000 miles).

- It has had the rear discs, pads, sensors & shoes replaced - all brand new rear brakes installed (~88,000 miles).

- It has had head gasket replaced and VANOS serviced in 04/2020 by Darren Wood (kept old one)

- It has had rod bearings replaced and valve clearance completed in 10/2022 by Darren Wood (kept old bearings)

- It has had SMG software CSL 255 with rev match uploaded in 2022 by Darren Wood

When I purchased M3 in 2018, the mileage was 89,020. Car has now 96,603 miles.

The car gets attention when driven as it is in near pristine condition, it is a joy to drive, you will be hard pressed to find another in this condition and spec.
