The Mercedes-Benz CLK DTM AMG

This special edition model, based on the Mercedes CLK C209, was built to celebrate AMG’s 2003 DTM championship title. The German Touring Car Championship (DTM) is one of the world’s most prestigious touring car championships. The CLK DTM was heavily inspired by the DTM racing cars and was developed for an exclusive clientele seeking extreme performance and racetrack dynamics on the road. A total of just 100 coupés were produced. Visually, the CLK DTM stood out clearly from the conventional CLK models thanks to its aggressive aerodynamic components. Wider wings, a massive rear spoiler and large air intakes not only created a strong link to motorsport, but also improved the vehicle’s aerodynamics and overall performance.

Under the bonnet, the CLK AMG DTM houses a 5.5 litre supercharged V8 engine that delivers an impressive 582 hp and 800 Nm of torque. This power enabled the car, in the 2000s, to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.9 seconds and reach a top speed of 320 km/h. The CLK DTM’s chassis was specially tuned for extreme performance and utilised motorsport expertise to offer a radical lowering, stiffer springs and special tyres for maximum grip on the road. The interior also reflected the car’s sporty character. Carbon bucket seats, a DTM style steering wheel and high quality materials such as leather, Alcantara and carbon fibre created an exclusive and sporty atmosphere in the cockpit.

This CLK DTM was completed by AMG direct business on 2 February 2005 and subsequently delivered to the then Samsung Chairman, Lee Kun-hee. He kept the vehicle as part of his vast collection until 2019, when Mechatronik purchased it from him and imported it to Germany. Mechatronik sold the car to its second owner, where it was registered in Germany, in 2020. After six years of ownership, the enthusiast decided to sell the vehicle, bringing it back into Mechatronik’s possession in 2026. Today, this CLK DTM, which has never been repainted, boasts an exceptionally low mileage of just 6,750 km and a remarkable provenance, offering a rare opportunity for any top class Mercedes collection.
