This has got to be one of the coolest-looking cars we've got on the forecourt. The Fiat 600e is basically what happens when the Fiat 500 goes away, sorts itself out, gets a proper job and comes back with a bit more space and a lot more common sense. It's still got all the charm and personality that made people fall in love with the 500, but now you can actually fit adults and their endless life admin in it as well.
And the spec? It's ridiculous. You've got a 360-degree camera for those moments when you've somehow managed to park near every obstacle in the county, satellite navigation, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless phone charging, keyless entry and start, huge diamond-cut alloy wheels and a full leather interior.
Speaking of the interior... look at it. Honestly, it's nicer than some people's living rooms. The cream leather with the turquoise stitching is properly classy. Fiat have somehow managed to make a small SUV feel a bit boutique hotel.
Now, I know what'll happen. You'll mention it's electric and someone will immediately become an expert on EVs despite never owning one. There'll be talk of range anxiety, charging infrastructure and some story about their cousin's neighbour getting stranded in 2021. Ignore them. This will do well over 200 miles on a full charge, which is more than most people drive in a week. It comes with a three-pin charging cable so you can charge it at home, and a Type 2 cable for faster public charging. And let's be honest, charge points are everywhere now. They're multiplying quicker than coffee shops.
On top of all that, this is a one-owner car that has come directly to us from Motability. It has a full service history, two keys, and it's still covered by Fiat warranty until 2028. So not only is it stylish, practical and packed with kit, it's got the sort of history and peace of mind that means you can just get on with driving it rather than worrying about it.
Which, these days, is quite a nice change.
