2007 BMW

Here for sale is my lovely MANUAL BMW E61 M5 Touring that is one of just 222 RHD UK examples.

First registered 30/06/2007 and has a very nice factory specification with some desirable options.

During my ownership over the last 4+ years I have preventatively replaced a lot of things both cosmetically and mechanically and this really is a well sorted M5.

Now to the special part. I have had the car converted to manual using a brand new BMW M5 US specific gearbox and prop shaft with parts ordered direct from BMW.

Most people tend to convert these cars with old tired V8 M3 boxes but I found out that you could still order new OEM E60 M5 US gear boxes and US spec E60 M5 prop shafts so this is what I did, with the aim to see what a brand new box, prop shaft, clutch and flywheel would feel like with the added bonus of being in a V10 Touring.

Modifications:

Manual conversion included the below parts:-

New BMW M5 6 Speed manual gearbox direct from BMW

New BMW prop shaft US M5 spec direct from BMW

New LUK flywheel

New LUK clutch

New BMW F10 M5 US Spec illuminated shift knob direct from BMW

New center console trim / buttons from BMW

New clutch pedal and assembly US M5 spec direct from BMW

Carbon plenum

Eventuri intakes

Ebach lowering spring kit (had suspension fully removed and all cleaned + anything replaced it needed at this point)

Front/Rear spacers

Mr 12Volt so has Apple car play / Android auto

Retrimmed alcantara steering wheel by Royal.

Private plate to come with the car V10 TUT

Other new parts replaced under my ownership to mostly refresh things were:-

Rod bearing replacement using ACL bearings (mileage was 112,932) Old bearings come in a box with the car

Diff oil also replaced same time

New Gearbox undertray (the large expensive front one that are always damaged on M5s)

Replaced all undertray screws x40 from BMW

New exhaust sealing rings from BMW

New Rear brake discs and pads

New Parking sensors

New Wiper linkage from BMW

New wiper blades

New Diversity antenna

New Radiator

New Engine cooling fan & relay

New Air con condenser and re-gas

New Alternator regulator from BMW

New battery

Allow wheels new from BMW in 2022 ordered by my specialist, were sat on a shelf unused with new PS4's so I bought these and fitted them in 2023 (annoyingly I have just slightly scuffed one which is the fist time I've ever done such a thing).

Replaced Soft close door mechanism for drivers side (also have spare mechanisms for all other doors)

I am pretty sure there is other stuff I have forgotten about, but hopefully it is clear that this has been an exceptionally well maintained M5. It has been a hobby and labor of love of mine actively replacing parts to continuously refresh and improve things. I've not added up all my spend but is easily well over £20K+ in my ownership.

The car has just been serviced by my BMW specialist at a cost of over £1350 that also included rebuilt rear calipers(new at NLA), new pads and a fresh MOT so is now ready to find a new home.

The car comes with a fully stamped service book, lots of invoices (including for all my spend), the leather M wallet is intact with owners handbooks, 2 remote keys plus valet key, first aid kit and safety triangle, the original data spec sheet from new and original sales/spec brochure.

Bad bits

- The small scuff on the drivers wheel (see pic)

- Very small bubble appearing under rear hatch glass only visible when glass is raised (see pic)

- Front bumper does have some chips / scratches and could probably do with painting at some point.

The car will come with various parts such as the original airboxes, plenum etc.

Final thoughts:

As you can see the car has had a lot or work put into it and has never let me down. Its in great mechanical and overall cosmetic condition for a car of this age. Brakes are good, PS4s tyres are good, ice cold air con and it is never uses any oil in between my annual services. it is a joy to drive with this brand new OEM M5 gearbox and the noise from the Carbon Plenum and Intakes is just beautiful, and will be massively missed.

This has been a special car and labor of love for me but I am pricing this sensibly for hopefully a quick sale, but most importantly with the hope that I can find another enthusiast owner who will also cherish and enjoy the car like I have.
