2003 VAUXHALL VX220

Unfortunately, the time has come to sell my VX220 Turbo after eight years of ownership.

This is not your average VX220. Benefiting from a forged Courtenay Sport Stage 4 engine, AP Racing brakes, Nitron suspension and a full clam-off restoration, it has been developed into an exceptionally capable road car while remaining reliable and usable.

With just 915kg to move, the car produces 329bhp and 333 lb-ft of torque, delivering an incredible power-to-weight ratio that still embarrasses many modern performance cars.

The car comes with over £38,000 worth of invoices and documented history, including approximately £15,500 spent during my ownership alone.

Restoration & History:

In December 2015 the car underwent a full clam-off restoration and rebuild by Datum Motorsport at a cost of approximately £10,000.

The car was completely stripped and refinished in stunning BMW Sakhir Orange, a premium colour normally reserved for BMW M cars. The finish changes dramatically in different lighting conditions, ranging from deep orange/red tones through to vibrant metallic orange.

Condition:

The car presents extremely well and remains in very good condition for a 23-year-old vehicle.

As with many VX220s, there are a few age-related imperfections. There is a small area of paint blistering beneath one of the doors, some minor stone chips consistent with use, and a crack in the carbon fibre front splitter.

I have tried to describe the car honestly and accurately. It is not a concours car, but it is a very well-maintained, highly modified and exceptionally fast VX220 Turbo that has benefited from significant investment throughout its life.

The car is only being sold because I no longer have the time to use it as intended.
