2012 PORSCHE CAYMAN

The Cayman R is one of those cars Porsche got right straight out of the box. Lighter, lower and more focused than the Cayman S, it did away with unnecessary weight while keeping the naturally aspirated flat-six, hydraulic steering and wonderfully balanced mid-engined chassis.

This particular example is finished in Peridot Green, a colour that suits the Cayman R perfectly and is now seldom seen. More importantly, it has the specification you want: a six-speed manual gearbox, lightweight bucket seats and the correct factory Spyder alloy wheels.

Today, the car has covered just 13,929 miles from new. As you would expect given the mileage, it presents exceptionally well throughout and remains a highly original example.

The most recent visit to Philip Raby Specialist Cars included a major service for the 987.2 platform, replacement front and rear brake discs and pads, and a brake fluid change.

A new set of tyres has also recently been fitted and the car benefits from a fresh MOT. It is therefore fully prepared and ready to be used.

The Cayman R has become one of the most sought-after modern Porsches, and rightly so. At 55kg lighter than the contemporary Cayman S, with lowered suspension and a little more power, it offers a noticeably more direct and engaging driving experience without becoming difficult to use on the road.

Low-mileage examples are becoming increasingly difficult to find, especially in Peridot Green with a manual gearbox, bucket seats and Spyder wheels. This is a particularly well-specified and carefully maintained example of one of Porsche’s best modern driver’s cars.
