Description
There are few modern Astons that command quite the same presence as the Vanquish S. The final evolution of the original Gaydon-era flagship, it remains one of the most charismatic grand tourers of the 21st century; combining muscular styling, a naturally aspirated V12 and genuine long-distance capability in a way few cars have managed since.
This particular 2005 Vanquish S is an especially rare example. Finished in Pentland Green, it is understood to be one of just seven Vanquish S models produced in this colour, a wonderfully understated specification that perfectly suits the car’s elegant proportions. Inside, the cabin is trimmed with green Alcantara seat inserts and matching headlining, creating a specification that feels both distinctive and unmistakably Aston Martin.
Configured as a desirable 2+2 and showing just 27,058 miles from new, this is a car that has clearly benefited from enthusiastic and knowledgeable ownership throughout its life. Previously residing with notable Aston Martin collectors, it has always remained within the hands of owners who understood both the significance and the maintenance requirements of the model.
Acquired by its current owner from HWM Aston Martin in 2023, the car has since been maintained regardless of cost. During the last two years alone it has received three services with HWM and continues to benefit from an Aston Martin warranty valid until September. Most significantly, HWM removed the gearbox during 2024 and undertook a comprehensive inspection and recommissioning programme under warranty, effectively working through the car from front to back to ensure it performed exactly as intended.
The current owner is no stranger to using his cars properly. In 2024 alone, this Vanquish S completed approximately 7,000 miles in just seven weeks without issue, proving exactly why these cars have earned such a loyal following amongst those who actually drive them. It remains a wonderfully capable grand tourer, equally at home crossing continents as it is attending concours lawns and collector gatherings.
Throughout its life the car has accumulated an extensive maintenance record, with continual attention from recognised Aston Martin specialists. Numerous thoughtful upgrades and refinements have been carried out over the years, including subtle cosmetic improvements, revised grilles and freshly refurbished brake calipers, all contributing to an example that presents exceptionally well today.
Most recently, the car has received a full machine polish and ceramic coating, after which it has seen very little use. The finish presents beautifully and highlights one of the most unusual and attractive colours ever applied to a Vanquish S.
Adding further provenance, this very car was selected by the Aston Martin Heritage Trust for its video series documenting the Vanquish. It featured alongside original Aston Martin development and test driver Les Goble, who used the car to demonstrate and explain how the Vanquish was intended to be driven — a fitting endorsement for an example regarded highly enough to represent the model’s legacy.
As collectors increasingly recognise the significance of the Vanquish S as the ultimate expression of Aston Martin’s early 2000s V12 grand tourer, exceptional examples are becoming ever harder to source. A rare colour, low mileage, extensive specialist maintenance, outstanding provenance and proven usability combine to make this one of the most compelling Vanquish S examples currently available.
As ever, we have a full digital file available on request, including additional images, walkaround videos, and service history scans. The car is available to view by appointment at our West London showroom.
