Overview

You have to respect Morgan. Not only are they still producing incredibly capable and alluring sports cars after all these years but they have remained true to a certain aesthetic that not only endears them to motoring fans the world over but also sets them apart from most other manufacturers. And they're still at it today. With four cars on the current roster, all instantly recognisable as Morgans, the British firm continues to produce truly exciting and highly desirable open-top roadsters. For many though, the Aero series cars will always be some of the most special models to ever roll out of the factory at Malvern.

Introduced in 2000, the Aero 8 was the first brand new Morgan design since the 1960s and featured an aluminium chassis with an aluminium-skinned ash wood body frame. A proper supercar, the Aero 8 was initially fitted with BMW's 4.4-litre M62 V8 mated to a 6-speed Getrag manual gearbox but the later series cars feature  the 4.8-litre N62 V8 engine, still from BMW, but now producing a rather hefty 362bhp.

Continually developed and with additional models joining the Aero family over the years, it was the much rarer coupe variant that arrived in 2012 that finally offered the fixed roof that so many fans craved. Fitted with the aforementioned 4.8-litre lump, the Coupe could hit 60mph from parked in the mid-four seconds before topping out at 170mph, but it's a car that can actually be driven rather leisurely when not barrelling into bends like a scalded cat, such is its inherent dynamism.

This particular low mileage 2014 Coupe was purchased directly from Morgan by the vendor having been used as a demo car and comes to market with excellent service history, including all invoices since 2014. It has only covered 500 miles since its latest inspection in August last year. Presenting beautifully throughout, the car looks stunning, has clearly been very well maintained and is reportedly running perfectly.

Summary

There are few cars as exciting and evocative, not to mention as thunderously quick off the line, as a Morgan Aero and when coupled with one of the best soundtracks you could ask for, this incredibly rare, fixed roof coupe certainly ticks a lot of boxes. 

Clearly cherished, this stunning British supercar may appear traditional but go for a blast and you'll quickly realise there's much more to it than its classic looks. An especially exclusive and desirable sports car indeed that's backed up by a really rather impressive service history.
