Overview
The Caterham Seven remains one of the purest driving experiences money can buy. Strip away the creature comforts, bolt an engine to a featherweight spaceframe chassis, and let double-wishbone front suspension and a De Dion rear axle do what they do best. With a kerb weight around 550 kg, even modest power figures translate into properly exciting performance, and the 1.4-litre "Classic" variant is the friendliest entry point into that world.
This 2014 Seven is finished in yellow and is a lovely looking thing, with the condition reflecting the care it's had. Bought from Allon White Sports Cars in 2015 at just 906 miles, it's been in the same hands ever since, garage stored, trickle charged, and serviced by EA Autos in Aldermaston.
Clocking up just seven thousand three hundred miles in eleven years, this car has clearly been savoured. The vendor tells us it starts first time, every time. The heated screen works, the immobiliser is fitted and functional, and mechanically there are no reported issues.
It's the kind of car that makes you wonder why you'd ever want more than 105 bhp. When the whole package weighs about the same as a large sofa, you really don't need it.
