A beautifully presented, UK-registered 1981 DeLorean DMC-12 that has been in the hands of the same enthusiast owner since 2018.

This is a carefully recommissioned example that has been maintained with the intention of being driven and enjoyed while preserving the originality and character that have made the DMC-12 one of the world's most recognisable classic sports cars.

Unlike many examples that spend long periods in storage, this DeLorean has been exercised regularly in dry conditions to keep it mechanically healthy. It has never been driven on salted winter roads during my ownership and has always been stored indoors over the winter months.

Mechanically, the car is outstanding. It starts readily from cold, settles to a smooth idle and drives exceptionally well. The engine pulls cleanly throughout the rev range, the desirable 5-speed manual gearbox performs exactly as it should, and the steering, braking and suspension all inspire confidence. It is one of those increasingly rare classics that feels properly sorted and genuinely enjoyable to drive.

The odometer currently reads approximately 17,808 miles, and the accompanying history file together with the overall condition of the car strongly support this mileage.

The stainless steel bodywork has an excellent, even finish, the black exterior trim is in excellent order, and the grey interior is beautifully preserved, with the seats, dashboard and trim all presenting extremely well. The iconic gullwing doors operate correctly and close cleanly.

Registered as a Historic Vehicle, the car benefits from Historic Vehicle tax status. Although MOT exempt, I would be happy to supply the car with a fresh MOT for the purchaser's complete peace of mind.
