2008 PORSCHE 911

A 997.2 Carrera 2 finished in Basalt Black Metallic with black extended leather interior and the six-speed manual gearbox. It is a clean, usable and well-maintained example of the later 997 generation, with the naturally aspirated engine, no sunroof, PASM and manual gearbox combination that makes these cars particularly enjoyable to drive.

I have owned the car for almost 3 years, my forth 911, and it has been maintained properly throughout my ownership, regardless of mileage. The service history is comprehensive and consists of Porsche main dealer servicing and respected Porsche specialists in later years.

• Upgraded exhaust system- good condition OEM exhaust paired with a Designtek crossover pipe for a little extra growl without being excessive

• Hertz Mille and Audison Voce speaker upgrade supplied and fitted by Studio Incar, Hampshire

• Washable BMC panel filter fitted

• Rear lights upgraded to Porsche 911 Classic style

There has been significant expenditure over the years, including suspension work, clutch replacement, air-conditioning condensers and other maintenance items. More recent work during my ownership is summarised below, followed by the full service history.

Recent maintenance and ownership notes:

• Major service including spark plugs completed at 86,426 miles on 11 July 2024

• Next service booked with a local Porsche specialist, less than 3,000 miles and two years after the last service

• MOT valid until 14 May 2027

• New genuine Porsche window regulator fitted at 87,035 miles

• New Michelin Pilot Sport 5 front tyres fitted

• New battery fitted on 1 January 2024

The car drives exactly as it should and remains a fantastic example of the 997.2 generation, which is increasingly sought after for its usability, reliability and driver involvement when paired with a manual gearbox. It has been used regularly but sparingly in recent years, covering fewer than 3,000 miles since its last service and mostly attending Bicester Heritage and Porsche social events.

Service history:

Prior to my ownership, the car also had front dampers, PASM top mounts, bump stops, drop links, front discs and pads, and a clutch replacement at around 67,000 miles, alongside the GT3 short-shifter.
