Description
Overview
For sale is my 2010 987.2 Porsche Cayman 2.9 PDK. The car has been used regularly throughout my 5 years of ownership and the mileage is now approaching 123,000 miles. The mileage reflects regular long-distance use rather than just repeated short journeys. It has a full Porsche Main Dealer Service History and has been maintained regardless of cost throughout its life, including many of the known 987 maintenance items beyond routine servicing. The car passed its MoT first time on 15th June 2026 (the only advisory for rear tyre wear has now been rectified with new N-rated Michelin Pilot Sport 2 tyres). HPI clear with no outstanding finance and no known faults, this Cayman has an excellent maintenance record that gives buyers confidence in its mechanical condition. It is fully prepared and ready to be driven away by its next owner.
Inspections welcome. Serious enquiries only please, for which I am happy to provide further information. Car is based near Taunton in Somerset. Any test drive would require the prospective buyer to provide proof of fully comprehensive insurance covering this vehicle. Private registration 'J1 WMC' shown in the photographs is not included in the sale, and the original age plate LB59 LWW has been reinstated.
Price is £14,750 ono.
Ownership history
The car was registered in January 2010 and sold to its first owner from Porsche Centre Mayfair. Supplied with a complete history file from new, including the original bill of sale for £44,950, the original owner's manuals and booklets, and all the maintenance paperwork, as well as both original keys. The car has had 4 previous owners and I have thoroughly enjoyed owning the car since July 2021 (I bought it with approximately 65,000 miles). It has been fuelled throughout my ownership on super unleaded. The car was featured as one of the main articles in the January 2025 edition of Porsche Post.
Genuine reason for sale: I will be moving to London in September and therefore no longer have a need for a sports car and feel it’s best enjoyed instead by someone who will use it regularly. The car will be supplied with both original keys, owner's wallet, manuals and original toolkit.
Service history and Maintenance record
• This Cayman has full Porsche Main Dealer Service History with Porsche Centre Hatfield, Porsche Centre Portsmouth and during my ownership, Porsche Centre Exeter. I have all the official paperwork and the service booklet is fully stamped by all three Porsche main dealers.
• The car was covered under the official Porsche Extended Warranty programme for the vast majority of its first 15 years, meaning servicing was carried out at the correct intervals and that nearly all parts fitted throughout its life are genuine Porsche OEM components.
• Genuine new OEM Porsche parts fitted during my ownership (with invoices present) include all front coolant cross-over pipes and front condenser (2021), all 16 non-locking wheel bolts, 6 coil packs (1 in 2022, 5 in 2024), mass air flow sensor (2022), both rear OEM LED lights (2024), both driveshafts (2023, 2024 respectively), both driver (2022) and passenger (2025) window regulators.
• The vast majority of the suspension (including all springs, shocks, bump stops, top mounts and both rear lower wishbones) have been replaced with OEM specification items.
• Well-regarded Porsche independent specialist Cameron Sports Cars have performed several intermediate oil changes (in between the main dealer service schedule) as well as preventative maintenance, using mainly genuine Porsche or occasionally high-quality aftermarket parts.
• Complete set of original MoT certificates (2013–2026).
Detailed Full Service History (with correct minor/major rotation) is as follows:
• December 2011: Service @~14K miles by Porsche Centre Hatfield (first service)
• December 2013: Service @~27K miles by Porsche Centre Portsmouth
• December 2015: Service @~36K miles by Porsche Centre Portsmouth
• December 2017: Service @~45K miles by Porsche Centre Portsmouth
• December 2019: Service @~60K miles by Porsche Centre Portsmouth
• December 2021: Service @~70K miles by Porsche Centre Exeter
• May 2023: Service @~88K miles by Porsche Centre Exeter
• May 2024: Oil change @101K miles by Porsche Centre Exeter
• February 2025: Intermediate oil change @110K miles by Cameron Sports Cars
• June 2025: Service @~114K miles by Porsche Centre Exeter
• March 2026: Intermediate oil change @~121K miles by Cameron Sports Cars
The servicing has also included brake fluid changes every two years (time-based rather than mileage-based), spark plug replacement every four years and the required PDK servicing every 6 years. Next service due June 2027.
Specification and Options
This car is well specified, with approximately £8,500 of optional extras including:
• PCM with extended navigation
• Telephone Module for PCM
• Universal audio interface
• Sound Package Plus
• Heated leather seats
• Rear park assistance
• Rear wiper
• Climate control
• Sports Tailpipes
• Carpet floor mats
The car also has the following OEM retrofits completed at OPCs: passenger seat airbag deactivation (Porsche Centre Portsmouth) and Cruise Control (September 2022 at Porsche Centre Exeter).
It is finished in Basalt Black Metallic and is completely OEM standard with the exception of a Carnewal sports exhaust fitted in June 2024 (invoice present). A Carnewal exhaust is a common modification and well-regarded among enthusiasts for striking the right balance between quiet cruising and more character than the standard OEM exhaust under full throttle.
Mechanical Condition
• The car drives very well, accelerating, handling and braking exactly as one would expect a 987.2 Cayman to. The 2.9 engine remains smooth, responsive and will even return close to 40 mpg on a motorway run. The PDK gearbox shifts smoothly and precisely.
• Nearly all of the suspension components have been replaced to refresh the way the car drives.
• Rear discs and pads replaced in June 2023 and front discs and pads replaced in June 2024.
• All four tyres are the correct Porsche N-rated Michelin Pilot Sport 2 tyres that were designed for the car. The front tyres have ~5mm of tread and the new rear tyres have approximately 7 mm of tread.
• The air conditioning was re-gassed in 2025 and functions correctly.
Cosmetic Condition
• The overall cosmetic condition of the car is good.
• Front headlights are in good condition with no crazing or cracks. Rear OEM LED lights were replaced under Porsche extended warranty a couple of years ago (the seal breaks down allowing water ingress and discolouration) with brand new units, so are now in excellent condition.
• The condition of the front bumper and bonnet is commensurate with the age and mileage (in terms of small stone chips/ marks) and there is a small light scuff (~2 inches long) in the front bumper, which was present when I bought the car.
• The black leather interior (including the driver’s seat bolster) is in good condition. The black plastic centre console (surrounding handbrake) has some peeling (common wear item). There is a minor impression in the passenger seat (from a child seat) that was present when I bought the car.
