2006 HONDA S2000

For sale is my completely original, unmodified September 2006 Honda S2000 (AP1 facelift model) with just 49,217 miles on the clock. If you are looking for an honest, low-mileage, factory-standard example of one of the greatest naturally aspirated sports cars ever built, this is it.

It is finished in the rare and stunning Deep Burgundy Red metallic paintwork. In low light or from a distance, it looks almost black, but when the sun hits it, the red metallic flake really sparkles. The paintwork has been protected with a ceramic coating and is in beautiful condition, as are the immaculate alloys and black leather interior. Crucially for a UK car, the underside has also been sealed to protect it against the elements.

The soft top is immaculate, and the car comes complete with its original factory hardtop, the matching hardtop storage rack, and two covers (a light garage cover and a heavy-duty winter cover). It still retains its original factory radio and comes with both original keys.

Mechanics & Maintenance

The 2.0L VTEC engine runs perfectly, pulling exactly as it should. Positioned Front / Mid Engine for amazing balance. The car shows 5 former keepers on the V5C, and was owned by a mechanic prior to myself who looked after it meticulously. The last major registered service was carried out at 41,000 miles and was highly comprehensive, including changes to all differential and gearbox oils.

During my ownership, I have personally serviced it twice. Because I simply haven't had the time to drive it, the car has only covered around 800 miles in the last two years. It has done zero miles since its last service, which included fresh oil and a new set of spark plugs.

The car is currently SORN’d and the MOT has lapsed due to lack of use, but it will be sold with a fresh, full 12-month MOT. I regularly run the engine up to temperature, and the battery is kept healthy on a constant trickle charger, so it starts first time, every time. The tyres and brakes are all in excellent shape, and the alloys are immaculate.

To make sure it’s completely ready for its next owner:

I will put it through a fresh, full MOT.

The alloy locking nuts are looking a bit rusty, so I am replacing these with a brand-new set prior to sale.

Even though the oil has done zero miles since the last service, I am happy to freshen it again before you collect it if you would like the peace of mind.

Reason for Sale

This is a very honest sale. I am simply not getting the use out of it, and I am about to inherit a new automotive project that requires my time and garage space. The S2000 is far too good to sit as a driveway ornament. I would love to see this go to a collector or a genuine enthusiast who will take it out on the roads and appreciate it for what it is.
