Welcome to the sale of my 2003 BMW E46 M3.
If you’re looking for an enthusiast-owned, meticulously maintained E46 M3 with all of the important preventative maintenance completed and a selection of tasteful OEM+ upgrades, this is one of the best examples you’ll find.
This is my fifth E46 M3 over the last 18 years, and without question the best one I’ve owned. It has never been bought on a budget or maintained to one – everything has been done properly, by respected BMW specialists, with reliability and originality in mind.

The gap between 2014 and 2022 is because the car was dry stored for approximately seven years by its previous owner.
Following my purchase in 2022, I drove it over six hours home without missing a beat before carrying out extensive preventative maintenance.

The previous long-term owner also maintained the car to an exceptionally high standard himself, and every inspection since has confirmed the quality of his work.
MOT History
One of the standout points of this car.
It has never received a single MOT advisory in its entire life, which speaks volumes about how well it has been maintained.
Fresh MOT completed on 19/06/2026.

Bodywork
The body presents extremely well.
There are no dents or dings, and previous owners have maintained the paint over the years to keep it in excellent condition.
The rear floor was inspected by Redish in 2013 and found to be perfect, although I still chose to have it reinforced by BMR as preventative maintenance.
The underside remains incredibly original and has never required restoration. Even my MOT tester commented that it is one of the cleanest E46 M3s he has seen.

Honest Description
In the interest of complete honesty:
● The front bumper has the expected stone chips from use and would benefit from a respray if you wanted the car to be absolutely immaculate.
● One clip on the driver’s door card could do with replacing.
● The original windscreen has a few small stone chips.
None of these detract from the overall condition of the car.
Final Thoughts
Finding genuinely well-maintained E46 M3s is becoming increasingly difficult. While cheaper examples can still be found, it’s very easy to spend £10,000-£15,000 bringing them up to the standard this car already enjoys.
This example benefits from virtually every major preventative maintenance job being completed, an exceptional MOT record, comprehensive documentation, tasteful modifications, and careful long-term ownership.
It has lived a sheltered life, spending many years garaged and seeing very little wet-weather use. As a result, there is no corrosion in the usual areas, and the arches, sills and underside remain exceptionally clean.
Wherever it goes, the car attracts attention from enthusiasts and the general public alike. It has been selected by PistonHeads for their 25th Anniversary Show for the last two consecutive years, a fitting reflection of both its condition and presentation.
This has been an incredibly rewarding car to own, but after owning five E46 M3s over the last 18 years, I feel it’s finally time for someone else to enjoy it.
