1999 TVR GRIFFITH

I've had this car for 5 years (I've had TVRs on and off for nearly 25 yrs), but feel the need for a change. The colour is Sapphire Black, a Rolls Royce colour that has a deep blue sparkle in sunshine, which I've attempted to show in one of the photos. In Nov - Dec 2025, the car received a full doors & panels off (including the mirrors) respray. I have more photos of this if required; it was not due to any accident, the car is HPI clear. The chassis is completely original although there are other car upgrades detailed below. There are several receipts for waxoyl treatment in the past and I have continued it. The outriggers have been inspected at servicing / MoTs and found to still be sound. There are no oil or coolant leaks, and the car has a valid MoT (no advisories) until June 2027. The seats are magnolia leather and the vinyl trim dark blue and magnolia. The carpets, dark blue with magnolia piping, and dark blue hood are in excellent condition. Although there is no receipt in the history, some sections may have been replaced at some time, they are in such good condition. Stainless steel coolant pipes and silicon hoses have been fitted at some point, along with replacement blue seatbelts. The rear silencer has been sleeved and is therefore louder than standard, although still legal with the main catalytic converter still in place. The roof bag is included, although it has nicks & scuffs.

There are only 4 previous owners and I have a huge number of receipts and invoices in a binder with an invoice to accompany every service stamp since 2004, plus all 25 MoT certificates including the pre-digital ones. 16 out of 18 services have been at TVR dealers or specialists; it has been maintained to a high standard by all previous owners and I have endeavoured to keep this up. Any tasks I could not do myself have been entrusted to Andy Nicholas at SSC in Brierley Hill, a 25 year + TVR specialist.

2015 - ACT smooth bore induction hoses fitted.

2016 - Service at X Works.

2019 - Anthracite SP12 alloy wheels fitted (18" / 17") along with a Gaz Gold Pro suspension kit, all supplied by ACT. 6k mile service. The owner at the time told me via PH that this was when it had a new dashboard fitted, there are no cracks in the veneer.

2020 - New starter and it's briefest ownership of 1 year, possibly COVID related.

2021 - 12k mile service at TVR Ecosse and car then bought my me. Cracked main beam lamps replaced and thermal heat wrap applied to chassis rails beneath the exhaust manifolds. Windscreen washer pipe replaced with jets. Hammerite waxoyl applied, faulty heater tap replaced.

2022 - Faulty alarm / immobiliser replaced with HPA EVO kit from Abacus Alarms.

2023 - Glove box catch repaired (now works!). Additional oil change carried out. All 4 rear driveshaft boots replaced (2 were perishing) . All drop links and HT leads replaced (extenders removed). Starter solenoid relay installed. New ignition switch, upgraded engine mountings and power steering pipes upgrade kit fitted.

2025 - Fabsil Gold applied to roof, Hammerite waxoyl again applied where required. 6k mile service, sump resealed, rear fuel pipes replaced. New front brake pads fitted, rear brake discs and pads replaced. Respray in original colour.

2026 - New reverse light switch fitted, new battery and wiper blades.

The stereo has been replaced with a Sony head unit that has an FM radio and USB port with Bluetooth capability, and there is a 4 speaker system. There are many Leven items fitted such as the buttons, switch stalks, vent surrounds and handbrake grip.
