Description
2004 Land Rover Discovery 2 Landmark - a run-out top spec model and one of the last Mk2s built.
- TD5 turbo diesel and ZF 4-speed auto. 22 years and 169,000 miles young but (cliché warning) feels like half of that to drive.
- 7-seater with black leather and satin black interior trim (very rare - most were fake wood). 3rd row seats currently removed for cargo space but have been retained along with all the fixings.
- The best combination of working air suspension, but passive anti-rollbars without the dreaded ACE!
- Fitted with a modern Pioneer DAB/ phone compatible head unit and slide-out screen with reversing camera and wires iPhone dock (also works with Android via Bluetooth).
- New, genuine Dixon-Bate heavy duty sliding tow hitch, fitted by me last year.
- Shiny fresh MOT 2 weeks ago!
- 10k miles since brand new gearbox, torque converter and oil cooler
- Brand new heated windscreen professionally fitted (the correct way for a D2, with no leaks) last year
- Aircon regassed last year, blows ice cold in this weather 😎
- 5k miles since 5x brand new Goodyear road-biased tyres fitted (M/S rated)
- 1k miles since new transfer box oil with a new extended "expedition" sump to put less thermal stress on the oil when towing
- 1k miles since professional steam clean, underseal and cavity wax treatment by Before N After, who are the leading land rover rustproofing specialist and give a 10 year no-rust guarantee. This was a £1k treatment package back when I was intending to keep this car myself! The chassis was extremely solid before the treatment which is why I bought the car.
- 500 miles since engine service with air filter, oil and both the cartridge and centrifuge oil filters
- 100 miles since new braided brake flexi hoses (all 6) by HEL, new brake master cylinder, and extensive bleeding to purge air trapped in the ABS. It now stops on a dime with the best pedal I've ever felt in a Disco.
- 100 miles since new front and rear diff oils and fuel filter canister, and replacement drivers door and tailgate lock mechanisms to cure some intermittent operation symptoms due to wear
This is not your average rotten and worn out Discovery! I spent a lot of time looking for one in this condition, and a lot of money keeping it that way - intending to retain it long term... I'm only selling due to the unplanned acquisition of 2 American trucks and I can't keep everything :(
Priced to reflect its condition at £6500 ono, located near Tarporley in Cheshire
