⭕ THE SALE
This 1967 Triumph TR4A IRS is currently in a 2-week auction on our website. This is our guide price, i.e. what we think the car is worth in the current market, however, the reserve will be lower. You can read much more about the car, see of hundreds of detailed photos and videos of it, and ask the seller any questions on our website: we can't add links on this platform, so please search for "Trade Classics" on Google.
⭕ VEHICLE SUMMARY
With an improved suspension setup, the later TR4A got even better with IRS.
The stylish British sports car that combined classic looks with improved engineering. The Triumph TR4A IRS was based on the earlier TR4 but was transformed when Triumph introduced independent rear suspension (IRS). This made the car more comfortable for touring while also improving cornering stability. Although some markets still received a live-axle version, the IRS model is generally regarded as the more desirable and technically advanced variant, retaining its traditional open-top driving experience.
Powered by a 2.1-litre four-cylinder engine producing around 104 horsepower, the TR4A offered lively performance and could reach a top speed of about 110 mph. Its Michelotti-designed body, simple interior, and optional overdrive gearbox made it a popular choice for both spirited driving and long-distance touring.
It's clear to see that this stunning example has been well cared for over the past 14 months by Paul and for ~12 years by the former keeper.
Featuring a complete restoration, the TR4A is a truly affordable British classic that doesn’t disappoint.
