Overview
Ask anyone who's driven one, and they'll tell you the Trophy is the Clio at its most single-minded. This is the ultimate version and its character lives in the chassis: those Sachs remote-reservoir dampers and the lowered, specially tuned setup that made it such a giant-slaying thing to hustle down a favourite B-road. It's a proper pocket rocket, and its reputation remains up there with the best.
And here's the good news. The bit that matters most on a car like this has been given a thorough seeing-to. Back in 2020, the front Sachs dampers were professionally rebuilt, the suspension refreshed and all four brake calipers overhauled, so the celebrated Trophy chassis is intact and ready to enjoy.
It's a lovely looking example, too. The Capsicum Red carries a deep gloss, the panels are straight and even, and it all sits beautifully on those anthracite Speedline Turini wheels with their flash of red caliper behind the spokes. This is a genuine, honestly-used, numbered Trophy that has clearly been cared for by people who understood what they had, backed by a thick history file. It's exactly the sort of car we love to see cross the block: sorted where it counts, honest about the rest, and desperate for a driver who'll give it the roads it deserves.

Summary
This is a genuine numbered Trophy with rebuilt front Sachs dampers, refreshed suspension and overhauled brakes, all seen to in 2020. That makes it a cracking buy on its own merits, though the next owner would be wise to invest in a cambelt change to be safe. That done, it should be ready to continue keeping up with much more expensive machinery and, if properly cared for, should look after its next owner in terms of residual value, too.
