Description
This lot will be auctioned via Iconic Auctioneers, The Iconic Sale at the BRDC Classic 2026 - Competition Cars on Friday the 24th of July, The Wing, Silverstone Circuit, NN12 8TN.
Originally born from the ashes of the classic French manufacturer Motobécane, MBK became a subsidiary of Yamaha in 1984, leading to a golden era of highly customisable, robust, and stylish scooters.
This bike was supplied directly from Yamaha UK to Damon Hill after he had won the World Championship with Williams. After he left Williams, he took his Number 1 with him to the Danka Yamaha Arrows team and this paddock bike was used during the season when he was reigning World Champion.
Our vendor was a Yamaha UK employee in the Power Products department and eventually purchased the bike on the 24th May 1999 after Yamaha had road-registered it just 11 days previously.
The bike has been on display in our vendor's home for many years and is accompanied by its V5C which confirms his ownership for the last 27 years with Yamaha UK listed as the previous keeper.
We have been in contact directly with Damon and he has personally confirmed that this was his scooter when he was at Danka Yamaha Arrows.
An outstanding opportunity to own a genuine piece of Formula 1 heritage, enjoyed by Damon Hill during his winning years at the pinnacle of motorsport.
