Description
This lot will be auctioned via Iconic Auctioneers, The Classic Sale at CarFest 2026 on Saturday the 29th of August - Sunday the 30th of August, The Wing, Silverstone Circuit, NN12 8TN.
The Giorgetto Giugiaro-designed Series 1 GTV 1750 (1967-70) is widely considered by enthusiasts and collectors to be the pinnacle of the Type 105/115 Bertone coupés
The new nose styling eliminated the "stepped" bonnet of the Giulia Sprint GT, GTC, GTA, and early GT 1300 Juniors and now incorporated four headlamps
Finished in Blu Oandese (Dutch Blue), this example was assembled in Rosslyn, Pretoria from an Alfa Complete Knock-Down (CKD) kit and first registered on 1st January 1970 in Johannesburg
Imported to the UK by our vendor and first registered here as ABW 235G on 18/06/2004 (V5C shows no former keepers)
Prior to arriving in the UK, the Alfa is understood to have benefited from an engine rebuild and repaint. During the current ownership, the braking system has been comprehensively overhauled with a new master cylinder, reconditioned servo and rear brake pressure regulator, together with a new clutch, electrical overhaul, electronic distributor, electric fuel pump, replacement exhaust, wheels and tyres
Indicating 46,771 miles at the time of cataloguing and offered with a detailed history file including the original owner's service handbook (in the name of Ivan Cherry), workshop manual, repair guide, spare parts books, specialist tools, original jack and sump guard
South African assembled cars are regarded as particularly desirable having spent their lives in a rust-free dry climate
Sensibly estimated, we encourage your inspection at our CarFest Sale
