1972 MGB ROADSTER - PREVIOUS OWNER FOR 40 YEARS & CURRENT OWNER SINCE 2020 - LOVELY CONDITION This car was first registered in Cheshire on 13th March 1972 with the number plate ETU 361K and it is finished in its original colour of Bronze Yellow with a Blue Vinyl interior, Blue carpets, new Black Mohair Soft Top, Black vinyl Tonneau Cover, 1798cc Engine, 4 Speed Manual Gearbox with Overdrive on 3rd & 4th gears and sitting on its original 14'' Rostyle Wheels. It has only had 5 owners in its 54 year life and the previous owner from the Wirral purchased the car in June 1980. After 13 years of ownership, he had the car completely rebuilt in 1993 by MG Engineering Services in Birkenhead and works including a full photographed body restoration with new castle rail sections, new front wings, inner wheel arches, new floor sections, new inner and outer sills and many more parts including a full repaint in its original Bronze Yellow. In July 2000 with the speedometer showing 47,650 miles, it had a full Engine rebuild and mechanical overhaul including a new Clutch and further paint repairs and in 2005, the car was repainted again along with the fitting of new rear Wings and new Doors at a cost of £7,500. The owner had the car serviced and MOT'd annually by J & R Motors in Birkenhead and any minor repairs carried out as necessary, and there are letters from the owner confirming all works carried out during his ownership + a large number of invoices. Due to his advancing years, the car was little used from 2005, apart from a trip to Italy, and he eventually sold the car in 2020 after 40 years of ownership, and it was purchased in December 2020 for £10,600 by the current owner from Canterbury with 56,655 miles showing on the speedometer. During the last 6 years he has only driven 2,974 miles in the car, but he has had a gearbox rebuild + new clutch, fitted a new recessed grille, new Wooden Steering Wheel, new chassis member a spring mountings fitted by MG specialist LMG Kent Ltd (MOT failure), a new specially made mohair Soft Top and header rail fitted, new Alternator, new starter motor, rebuilt carburettors in 2024, electronic ignition, and last year it had LED lighting fitted, in total he has spent a further £9,556 on the car! This is very nice car and has lovely paintwork which still presents very well, plus it really does drive beautifully having only covered 11,979 miles since the engine was rebuilt. It comes with a box file full of paperwork including letters to and from previous owners, expenditure logs, lots of invoices, old MOT certificates, photographs of it restoration in 1993, ownership history and V5's, a clear HPi check and certificate, drivers handbook, old tax discs, MG Owners Club documents and two sets of keys. It also comes with a removable Boot Rack and a set of Halogen Spot lights that fit on the front bumper. It is of course classified as an 'Historic Vehicle' meaning it is Road Tax free, MOT exempt and ULEZ exempt. The car has just had a new MOT running to 8th July 2027 and upon sale, it will be given a pre-sales service/checkover, and come with a standard 6 Month Warranty.
