2013 MERCEDES-BENZ SL

We bought this car from Mercedes in Plymouth in 2018 with approximately 8k miles on it. Current mileage is just over 22k, so very low for a 2013 car.

Originally registered to MB UK as part of their executive fleet and has just about every option then available.

The second owner was a specialist Mercedes dealer who added it to his personal collection but used it very sparingly.

In our tenure, we enjoyed numerous UK and European summer road trips and it was always garaged and SORN’d during the winter months.

Lately, for a number of personal reasons the car has had little use.

We’ve reluctantly accepted that we aren’t going to be enjoying long road trips again and the car deserves better than just sitting in our garage

As mentioned earlier, this SL has almost all available options including Satnav, TV tuner, Harmon Kardon sound system, heated and cooled multi contour active pneumatic seats, Split screen display (allows passenger and driver to see different view of the same screen, ie driver will see SatNav while passenger can watch a DVD using headphones and remote), infra red night vision, real carbon fibre trim and fittings, Magic Vision panoramic roof, Distronic adaptive cruise control, active parking, Airscarf neck heating, Exclusive Nappa leather, Keyless Go – the list goes on and on.

It also has the Performance Pack which gives a modest increase in power to 577bhp, a leather and alcantara steering wheel and crucially a limited slip differential which is essential to get the best out of the ABC suspension, handling and power.

We were told that the total value of the options was about £50k on top of £130k for the basic car, so a very expensive buy in 2013.

I’ve since added a SmartTop module, which enables extra features like automated raising and lowering of the roof, alarm chirps, raising of side windows with top down etc, and an integrated Andoid Auto/Carplay box which works in conjunction with the Mercedes Comand system and incorporates a front view camera to spot high kerbs.

The car has a good service history with a mix of MB main dealer and respected Independent garages and will be serviced and MOT’d prior to sale. Tyres are matching Goodyear Asymmetric 5’s with plenty of tread.

All paperwork is available and it also comes with an owners manual, tools and remote plus headphones for the passenger.

Bodywork and interior is immaculate and reflects the low mileage and careful use.

In summary, this car is great all-rounder, very quick if you want (0-60 4sec) but also quiet and comfortable for long distance touring where it will return low to mid 30’s to the gallon.
