Here at Old Colonel Cars, the Classic and Performance Car Agency, we are delighted to have a superb example of the Alpina B10 4.6 V8.

This February 1998 example is finished in Silver with a Grey extended leather interior and has covered 120,000 Miles.

This example benefits from an excellent, fully documented service history.

The bodywork and paintwork are in excellent condition throughout.

Alpina make subtle enhancements to the bodywork, including the original Gold Alpina decals on the front bumper etc.

Inside the superb condition continues, the Grey fully extended leather interior is in excellent condition. There are some more lovely Alpina touches, including the Alpina logo seats, Alpina door kick plates and of course the Alpina plaque detailing it unique build number.

The Alpina 18inch alloys are all in excellent condition.

Underneath this B10 is just as good, sills, floor pan all in excellent condition.

The 4.6 V8 runs and sounds perfectly. Its been properly serviced and it shows.

The Gearbox offers normal automatic mode or you can change gear with the steering wheel buttons.

If you are not familiar with this model, this was Alpina’s answer to the M5. This was not designed to be a direct competitor, as it was more designed for a super fast saloon rather than the more hard core M5. These cars left the factory as BMW 4.4 V8’s. They were then taken to the Alpina factory. The engine was modified by increasing the displacement to 4619 cc, new crankshaft, re profiled camshafts, lighter higher compression Mahle pistons and a re-programmed engine management, along with re profiled and ported cylinder heads. This along with suspension / wheels / exhaust / gearbox upgrades resulted in a car with 340 BHP and amazing amounts of torque. Alpina claim ‘at least’ 172 MPH if the mood takes you with a 0-60 time of 5.6 seconds, but road tests indicate these figures might be on the conservative side.

These performance figures are impressive, but the main achievement in my eyes is the way they made all these improvements whilst still leaving a perfectly usable daily car yet had stunning performance when needed. Other than a slightly deeper exhaust note on tick over, it’s hard to tell this Alpina from a normal BMW V8. But explore the performance and everything comes together and makes sense. Its staggering, the bespoke Alpina exhaust suddenly makes all the right noises, pops and bangs on the overrun, the instant performance from this large V8 is very addictive, the Switchtronic gearbox with paddle buttons on the steering wheel to change gear works extremely well, I think Alpina got the whole package just right !

We have all the original manuals, a fully stamped original service book, 2 detailed folders full of old MOT’s and service receipts, HPI clear certificate, VOSA mot history.

We have a lovely collection of Alpina documentation and magazines from the period where the original discerning owner must have done his research. We even have the original Sales invoice from Sytner BMW Nottingham, where in 1998 this car cost £73,000 (Over £135,000 in todays money)

This car has been regularly maintained by either BMW or BMW Specialists like Munich Legends. For example, between 2011 and 2022, this regular work by Munich Legends totalled £23,174 alone, going through the car mechanically, servicing and repairing the underneath, sills etc.

This Alpina B10 really is an outstanding example. If you are looking for the best of both worlds, stunning performance with a luxury interior, this car must be seen.

This B10 is Mot’d until March 2027, just serviced (Inspection II) at 119,726 miles, so its ready to be enjoyed now.
