Life is changing so time for me to let this go.

This is a truly underrated ‘street sleeper’ car. If you know – you know.

If you don’t know, arrange a viewing and I will show you what it can do – I guarantee you’ll want it!!

This car is SOLID – not suffering from sill rot like most of these S Types. Passes MOT with no issues in the 5 years that I have owned it. There is a persistent tiny rust mark below the petrol flap and a tiny surface bit down by the wing base – that whole side was prepped and painted by a professional shop 2 years ago, so easily rectified with a blow in. I’m just being honest.

This car was a genuine 1 owner from new – a fella up in Warrington. His son inherited it upon his passing and it was not used. My plumber bought it but it scared him (!) so I bought it from him. It wants for nothing – anything that has needed doing, I have had done straight away.

The AC system works perfectly. The main board had a professional circuit board repair by Industrial Electronic Repairs Ltd in Letchworth. The main wiring block buried behind the water pump area in the engine bay was replaced and rewired. System was pressure tested and refrigerant gas changed. This was all done at Donacaster Jaguar Specialist Ltd

Very recently it had a small weep on the auto box and this was the pan filter gasket – a new pan filter, gasket and gearbox oil change now done.

Only other major component to be changed was 3 years ago when a stone went through the engine oil cooling radiator – all new Jaguar OEM parts fitted.

I have made some cosmetic modifications (only to suit my gentleman’s hot rod sensibilities) and these are:

• Bootlid debadged and repainted entirely – waxoiled inside bootlid. No.plate light refurbished.

• Orange side reflectors blackened (de Jaffa’ed).

• Front lamp washers deleted, filled and valence repainted.

• Rear silencers deleted. Zaustworx Ltd supplied specific straight thru J-Pipes on 75mm polished steel tips.

• Front stainless steel grille has ‘big cat teeth’ but easily removed with steel wool if not to your liking.

• The interior capping pieces and dashboard trims were changed from silvery wood veneer to the current aluminium set – bought 2nd hand from a Jaguar parts specialist.

• The car will come with a full Alpine EZ-DAB phone connection and Spotify music playing ability. This cost a fair bit to be supplied & installed. It works perfectly.

• ALL the parts that have been removed/altered are kept in a box and will be in the car upon purchase (exc exhaust back boxes)

This car has been to LeMans twice and doesn’t miss a beat. You will get 28mpg if you bubble along at around 80mph. But make no mistake, if your constantly open it out – fuel disappears at an alarming (but ecstatically enjoyable) rate.

The car is very loud on startup but soon settles to a beautiful V8 burble as soon as warmed up. It does not boom or resonate at motorway speed in any annoying or tiresome way. BUT – rip it out the gate and it roars along with a fantastic whine from the SUPERCHARGER! 0-60 is rapid and specced at 5.3 seconds – my top speed achieved was a perfectly stable 145mph (m’lud)…

I would say there are 3 stages to the acceleration:

1. Normal – a healthy pickup with a nice rumble (my wife happily drives this car on occasion).

2. Traffic Light Drags – will pick up its skirts and see off most contenders who think just another old dude in an old Jaaaag.

3. MONSTR Mode – full kick down, everything lets go and you disappear over the horizon and wait for the shocked other driver to sheepishly catch up and start grinning at you!!

Oh, and then there is the SPORT button next to the gear selector as well…

The car is currently on Goodyear F1 Eagles – full new set approx. 3 years ago – the rears will need changing next spring I guess.

New pads all round last year so no issues there.

Original wheels were powder coated graphite when I purchased the car

4 pot Brembo’s – stops straight, true and quickly

CATS electronic dampers/shocks – keeps things sensible on B Roads

New battery 2 yrs ago

Engine service 2 years ago but doesn’t do big mileage – always kept in a warm dry garage.

Headlamp lenses have been professionally polished.

Engine bay regularly cleaned properly – car has been fully valeted every year.

No accident damages or repairs – straight as a die.

Loads of paperwork & history folder.

My reason for selling is the purchase of something bigger but more sedate. If you bought this car, I am confident it will give you many more miles of astounding performance and outright joy.
