Hello, i’m selling my beloved 996 CSR!
It is a wonderful example of RPM Technik’s reimagined 996 Carrera, their 17th car
to be upgraded through their CSR programme (build number CSR-017) in 2017 at
a cost of approximately £50,000.
Co-incidentally i was introduced to the guy who originally commissioned this build,
so i’ve been able to talk to all the post CSR-era owners about it!
Unlike standard 996s, this vehicle has been completely re-engineered to deliver an engaging, analog driving experience that rivals a GT3 on country roads, while remaining thoroughly compliant and comfortable for long-distance European touring. The previous owner to me made some changes to the CSR spec by replacing the ducktail with a GT3 rear wing and a few other mods, but the vehicle's exact build configuration is fully documented and can be seen in its original RPM Technik launch promotional videos (which can be found on Youtube)
Under the lid is a 3.6-litre flat-six engine (complete with engine + gearbox
rebuilds, upgraded IMS and RMS bearings), producing approximately 320bhp
which is delivered to the rear wheels through an engaging six-speed quick shift manual transmission and a Wavetrac limited-slip differential.
This 996 CSR has been meticulously cared for and has been serviced exclusively
by RPM Technik, JZM Porsche and Auofarm since its 2017 rebuild.
I’ve owned the car since 2022, it’s been garaged throughout. I’ve made sure it’s
been maintained by the best Porsche specialists.
Also included in the sale are the original service book, toolkit, and an extensive
history file of invoices and MOTs, including full build details.
The final thing i’d say, is that i bought this car having wanted one for a long time.
I’d previously owned 996’s older 911’s for road driving, and track prepped MX5’s
and an Ariel Atom for track days. I originally bought this car to replace them all. As
can often happen, life got in the way of track days and it only ever got an
afternoon at Brands Hatch (see attached photo). This car has been driven to the
Nurburgring (it was raining so hard i decided to take my chances with a rented BMW instead :-) but as ‘one car to do it all’ i can tell you it’s comfy on a long motorway drive, fun (and reliable) on circuit, and - i may be biased - one of the most engaging cars you can own for a B-road blast.
I’ve absolutely loved this car, and it’d be a bonus to know it’d find its way to
somebody who understands the history of CSR conversations, and enjoys it as
much as i have.
If you’re wondering why i’m selling it, i bought a new house, and need the funds to
pay for the refurbishment. Otherwise i’d be keeping it!
Full details below!
CONDITION
The original Seal Grey paintwork is in good condition.
There are some minor chips and imperfections but nothing you wouldn’t expect with a car of this age.
The original black leather-trimmed interior presents very well. The rear seats are fully working and fold as designed.
The Cobra Nogaro seats have had very little use and present as brand new.
The car has been maintained as described and is in excellent working order, with no known mechanical or electrical faults. It has been garaged at my home since 2022 and kept on a trickle charger.
Most recent service was Autofarm’s 24k/4 Year service in June 2025
The documentation accompanying this car is exceptional. It includes the original factory service book, standard toolkit, and a comprehensive 3-inch-thick history folder safely kept within the original RPM Technik conversion binder.
MOT valid until 25 June 2027
Car is ULEZ exempt (i know!)
