History

I bought this car privately directly from its original owner in July 2019. At the time it had covered just under 13,000 miles. I saw that it had lived in a heated garage underneath his house and that he had had a number of specialist cars over the years beforehand (apparently the next door neighbour was an ex F1 driver !). Up to this point any maintenance work had been done by a main dealer (McLaren Ascot from memory).

He told me that the car had never been on track, also that It had had a brand new gearbox to latest spec under McLaren warranty very early in its life. The 625hp McLaren software upgrade was main dealer installed at the same time.

In the 7 years I have owned the car

It has always lived in a heated garage

I have covered 14,000 miles in it

It has never been on track (other than parade laps on owners days at low speed)

Servicing has been done by Thorney Motorsport

It has always run on VPower fuel

I have used it regularly and always warmed the engine up carefully

I have replaced the original (Lithium) battery with a traditional one in 2025. I still have the Lithium one and it still works – but a replacement is roughly £3500 and I preferred to avoid the risk of having to buy one (the car has a standard McLaren factory ECU setting activated to run a traditional battery)

Faults during my ownership (7yrs / 14,000 miles)

Windscreen wiper motor replaced (genuine Mclaren replacement)

Intake sound generator replaced (genuine McLaren rerplacement)

Passenger seat occupancy sensors upgraded to later “pressure mat” type
