2014 BMW 2 SERIES

I’m looking for a new home for my pride & joy as I’ve run out of space & excuses to keep it. I spent a long time looking for the right car 3 years ago before finding this one & embarking on the journey to create an understated M2. I wanted the ‘go’ without the ‘show’.

The car is a high spec model with a long list of options, highlights are:

* Electric Glass Sunroof

* Professional navigation system (widescreen)

* Harmon Kardon hi-fi

* Sun protection glass

* Adaptive headlights with high beam assist

* Full black panel display.

* Auto dimming & folding exterior mirrors

* Front & rear PDC

The car was a BMW demonstrator originally & was then sold to a lady as her “company” car, although she only used it to commute to her office before retiring & keeping it as a “fun” car (her words!). Her husband had other ideas & that’s where I came in.

I purchased it with just over 17k miles on the clock & immediately took it for a full service & a new battery at a BMW specialist that I’ve known for the best part of 20 years. I also replaced all 4 tyres with Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6s. It then went to Birds BMW in Buckinghamshire to have their full B2 conversion. This involved upgrading the suspension to their own spec Bilstein coilovers, fitting a Quaife limited slip differential & re-mapping the ECU to give approx 380 BHP & 530 NM of torque. They also fitted 10mm wheel spacers all round. I’ve since added a genuine BMW M Performance exhaust to enrich the sound. All the standard parts are included with the exception of the differential.

The conversion really has transformed the standard car in to a usable, high performance machine, i.e. an understated OG M2. The suspension is the highlight as it improved the ride from the rock hard standard set up to a more compliant, controlled UK road set up. The LSD makes a big difference in putting the power on the road & the extra power & torque is the icing on the cake.

The ZF 8 speed auto ‘box is one of the best I’ve experienced & compliments the car perfectly. It’s often said that a manual is a proper driver’s car however, this auto ‘box makes the car a true all rounder, every day usable & a driver’s car. I’d take an auto every time.

I’ve used the car for long journeys on motorways plus A & B road drives & it never disappoints. It’ll do 40 mpg on a run & then give you the “fizz” on a decent twisty road…obeying the law obviously!

Since the conversion the car has been serviced to BMW schedules by my friendly specialist & I have lots of paperwork to back up its history.

The car now has just over 28k miles showing, comes with MOT until November 2026 & is in good overall condition with the odd age related mark. Everything works, it has 2 keys & comes with all the appropriate books.

As you may have guessed, I love this car & have put a lot of energy (& money!) in to making it special. I don’t really need to sell it, so please save us both time by only getting in touch if you’re serious, & understand that, although I’m open to negotiation, I won’t be accepting low offers. This is a very rare car & comes at a price, but I believe it’s good value when you compare it to what else is available.
