1999 Chimaera SC400. 123,800 miles

The time has come to sell my pride and joy of 16years.

The car has been fully maintained regardless of cost (years of receipts) and has had many upgrades along the way. It may have over 100,000 miles on the clock, but as anyone who knows will tell you, it’s condition that counts. This car looks, feels and drives like a much younger car. The car has been totally reliable. We’ve enjoyed many trips to Europe, the Alps and some very fast Autobahn driving.

Re buildable Nitron coil over shocks all round;

Recently fully rebuilt front suspension replacing lower & upper arms & bushes; anti roll bar drop links etc

Recent outriggers replaced August 2025 at Sportmotive.

Engine

Full rebuild by Powers performance around 75,000miles. Build included

Top hat liners;

Compression ratio increase to 10:1;

Ported heads with big valves (stage 3) to match fully ported manifolds (inlet & exhaust);

45mm Alloy trumpets;

Kent 218 camshaft (this is a mild cam and delivers exceptional power from tick over to 6,000 rpm) ideal for road use.

More recently new Powers Performance uprated clutch.

Bespoke stainless steel exhaust including manifolds and twin sports cats exiting rear looking totally standard.

Engine breaths via a bespoke water cooled plenum chamber & Rotrex super charger. Fuel and ignition all controlled with a DTA S80 pro ECU;

Hi flow fuel pump;

Big green injectors;

Jenvey throttle body

Magnecore R-100 racing red HT leads.

Interior

Cerbra seats, Dash top, Door cards steering wheel & central tunnel re trimmed in black & yellow leather. Diamond stitched with yellow thread.

Stainless steel basket weave dashboard with yellow instruments.

Aluminium stalks and knobs

Boot re carpeted following installation of a larger Aluminium touring fuel tank 70lt. Approximately 350 mile range. (Lake District to Portsmouth).
