According to BMW in reference to its high-end luxury brand Alpina, the focus is on precision and finding beauty in sophistication to create cars with the best performance and comfort, guided by its distinguished heritage. And what a heritage it is! From modifying BMW engine parts in 1965 to becoming an official and integral part of proceedings it's been quite the journey and Alpina's legacy is an important part of both BMW's and the wider automotive landscape's overall make up.

Based on the BMW G30 5 Series 540i Xdrive the Alpina B5 BiTurbo features a modified version of the N63 4.4-litre twin-turbocharged V8 that produces a whopping 600bhp that powers all four wheels, allowing for a 0-60mph time of just three-and-a-half seconds and a top speed of over 200mph. An eight-speed ZF automatic gearbox and trick active steering system completes the package and the B5 BiTurbo remains an incredibly capable and attractive machine.
