Description
Built by the owner of Car-iconics Ltd for his own personal use over the last three years. This 996 Turbo had covered just 52,000 miles when Daniel bought the car with the sole intention of making it one of the quickest 996’s on the road today. Prior to his ownership, the car had been owned by the same gentleman for over 12 years.
Once purchased, the car was treated to an engine out service, which included the welding in of the water pipe fittings, which is essential for any 996 that is going to be used on track. All of the plugs, coil packs, and every other service item was attended to, including: front radiators and pipes, wishbones (poly bushed) all oils, brake fluid (SRF), rear spoiler rams serviced in Belgium etc etc.
The front differential was removed, and a 3J plated LSD was fitted into the gearbox, giving the car a far more track focused feel, but still delivering huge traction.
The suspension was changed for Ohlins Road and Track coilovers, with the optional adjuster extension for the rear dampers, along with elephant racing top-mounts, which although noisy, give great adjustability for over -3 degrees of camber.
RSS engine mounts were fitted, which make the car more predictable and gives a sharper gearchange.
Once back on the road, the car was run from 2023 until 2025 when it was decided that the original turbos, whilst performing perfectly, could do with a refresh for preventative maintenance purposes. Once at the turbo specialist, they recommended upgrading them as the extra cost was minimal. They were CNC’d, polished, and upgraded with modern billet wheels, and 360 degree thrust bearings. This modification, alongside new D088 intercoolers, a thorough boost leak fixing session and a remap by Chipwizzard’s resulted in a phenomenal 575 BHP, and after a trip to Spa and Nürburgring, it was decided to ‘turn it down a bit’ as the car was genuinely unnecessarily fast. What we have now is more like 525 BHP, and more torque than a nuclear power station. The performance is astonishing.
The interior has been upgraded to ‘Clubsport’ spec, to include new Recaro Pole Position seats, and genuine Recaro runners, SW Motorsport T45 cage, Schroth 2” HANS harnesses and the seat cushions and sunroof cover refinished in high quality Scottish wool tartan. The steering wheel is a genuine Porsche CUP wheel, although it would benefit from being recovered. Brand new Porsche floor mats have just been purchased.
All of the original interior is supplied with the car.
There are two sets of wheels, both shod with Yohohama AD09 tyres. These are the Advan GT race wheels (as pictured) and the original Turbo Twist Hollow-Spokes, both of which have been recently refurbished.
