2002 SUBARU IMPREZA

Totally stock, only 2 lady owners before me and I’ve hardly used it, it was my sister in law’s car before I got it. It’s been off the road since 2014, although it’s been driven around on private land at home to keep everything moving. I’ve been working on it between other car projects off & on for years. Bodywork is done now, back in 2014 it didn’t look like it had any real rust until I started really poking about, it was all hidden underneath the factory underseal. It now has a new genuine front radiator support panel & rebuilt rear arches. The sills are perfect inside & have been painted where there was slight surface rust under the plastic covers. Hopefully it’s all obvious from the pictures (the shock mount towers have been rebuilt the same both sides but there are only pictures of the drivers side).

It has front lower arms from a saloon, they are a few mm wider than the originals that had rusted (the factory recall is still outstanding on them, they would probably still fit some brand new wagon arms if you took it to a dealer). It has a good replacement front subframe, 4 new tyres, new front callipers, new battery, new denso knock sensor and 02 sensor. Otherwise mechanically it has always been fine. A/C is the only thing I haven’t tried to fix, probably needs a replacement compressor & maybe a condenser. It did have copper brake lines fitted at the rear a year before it came off the road.

As the MOT says the rear subframe could do with some work, although the original bushes seem to be still holding together. It drives really nicely. If I was keeping it I’d probably get a replacement rear subframe built up ready to swap onto it at some point, obviously personal preference comes into it with the type of bushes….

It’s fine to just use it as it is, or would make a great base to take to the next level. I’d love to build it properly, that was my original intention but I have too many other projects on the go!
