In 1994, Maranello faced a crossroads. The previous era had built machines of uncompromising, brutal edges—heavy, demanding, and visually aggressive. But under the watchful eye of Luca di Montezemolo, Ferrari sought something higher, a return to the absolute soul of the mid-engine sports car. The mandate was simple, create a car that possessed the track-bred ethos of a Formula 1 racer, wrapped in a shape that would remain timeless.

Enter Pininfarina. They smoothed away the heavy side-strakes of the previous decade, channeling the voluptuous, flowing silhouettes of the legendary 1960s Dino and 308 GTB. They sculpted a profile anchored by classic flying buttresses, pop-up headlamps and a subtly integrated rear lip spoiler. It wasn't just a design; it was a resurrection of Italian automotive beauty.

The engineering formula included a 3.5L 90° V8 engine with an 8,500 rpm redline and first production car with a 5-valve per cylinder head borrowed from Ferrari's V12 F1 program. Producing 380 horsepower delivering 109 hp per litre, a specific output that eclipsed every naturally aspirated supercar of its generation coupled with an innovative, completely flat under-tray that equalised downforce across both axles, securing high-speed stability without oversized wings.

Rescuing Ferrari’s mid-engine lineage was only the beginning for F355, it became the bridge to the modern supercar era. It was the final masterpiece of the hand-built, old-world Maranello assembly ethos.

This UK car was supplied new by Maranello Egham in September 1997 in the revered combination of Rosso Corsa 322 with Crema Connolly Leather with the extremely rare Carbon Kevlar Racing seats which are believed to have been factory optioned to approximately 2% of all F355's built, Challenge Rear Grille, Brake Calipers in Rosso, Carpets in Rosso, Stitching in Rosso, Leather Headliner in Crema, Air Conditioning and Dual Airbags, 18" 5 Star Spoke Magnesium Wheels with Yellow Centre Caps and a Tubi Exhaust.

We also have a Ferrari tool kit, flat tyre compressor, indoor Ferrari car cover and original Schedoni leather wallet. The history file has lots of invoices detailing the love, care and attention this F355 has received and our example is a sensational usable modern classic Ferrari or the perfect addition to a discerning collection.

The original warranty card booklet reads as you would hope with an impressive 24 stamps, from Ferrari main agents and Ferrari Specialists. The last service was carried out in May 2026 at 47610 miles and the last cam belt service was carried out in April 2025 at 46904 miles.

We have also just had the car inspected by QV London Ferrari Specialist, work included - Intake Hose Replacement, Brake Bleed on Nipples and Master Cylinder, Check and Adjust Tracking, Exhaust Solenoid Terminal Clean, New Washer Bottle Neck Bracket, Resolve Front Suspension Pattering with new Drop Links; Anti-Roll Bar Bushes; Bottom Shock Bushes and Inner Arm Bushes (£2426). Also we have replaced the rear brake discs and pads. There is an MOT until July 2027.
