Description
This lot will be auctioned via Iconic Auctioneers at The Classic Sale at CarFest 2026 on Saturday the 29th of August - Sunday the 30th of August, The Wing, Silverstone Circuit, NN12 8TN. The price indicated is the lower auction estimate.
One of just 1,944 final-production 1973.5 Porsche 911 T/E Coupés and Targas produced during the last six months of the iconic long-bonnet era, before the introduction of the impact-bumper G-Series in 1974
In January 1973, Porsche transitioned the US-spec 911T from Mechanical Fuel Injection (MFI) to Bosch CIS. Enthusiasts use the 1973.5 designation exclusively for these mid-year, CIS-equipped cars
This matching-numbers example retains its original 140bhp, 2.4-litre CIS fuel-injected flat-six (#6134115) and five-speed 915 manual transmission (#7337316), finished in its factory colour combination of 936 Silver Metallic with a black interior and Pepita Houndstooth seat centres
Factory specified with an extensive list of desirable options including 911S front and rear spoilers, 911S instrumentation, 15-inch Fuchs alloy wheels, green-tinted glass, Blaupunkt Frankfurt AM/FM radio with integrated aerial windscreen, heated rear window and numerous period factory details
Subject to an extensive mechanical, cosmetic and interior refurbishment, including a full suspension and braking overhaul, gearbox rebuild, engine inspection and refresh, dry-ice blasting of the underside, comprehensive renewal of seals and trim, interior retrim to the correct specification and refurbishment of all five Fuchs wheels with new Avon tyres. Much of the recent specialist work was undertaken by Carrera Performance, Classic FX, Chrome London, Tuthill Porsche and other recognised Porsche specialists
Accompanied by an exceptional history file including the original owner's manual, service book, Blaupunkt documentation, Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, Production Specifications sheet and extensive invoices documenting total recorded expenditure of £116,933 from its UK importation in 1998 through to November 2025, including approximately £18,000 of parts and substantial specialist works completed during 2025 alone
A fine example of one of the most highly sought-after classic 911s from the 1970s and we encourage your inspection at our CarFest Sale
