First registered in February 1980 and finished in distinctive Inca Yellow, this desirable Series 4 Sprint is one of just 834 examples produced, benefiting from the model's final-specification developments including dual-circuit brakes, revised instrumentation, driver's door mirror and rear fog lamp

Recommissioned and featured on Ant Anstead's Born Mechanic television series, where the car benefited from extensive mechanical and cosmetic work, building upon a previous restoration understood to have exceeded £18,000. Work included a rebuilt and uprated engine with twin Weber 45 DCOE carburettors, stainless steel sports exhaust, poly-bushed suspension, grooved and drilled front discs, adjustable rear suspension, new front springs and dampers, high-torque starter motor, restored dashboard veneers and sill repairs

Following its purchase by our vendor, a number of initial teething issues were resolved with support from the television programme before further investment was made. Robsport subsequently carried out a head gasket replacement, fitted a thermostatically controlled electric cooling fan and undertook additional bodywork tidying and welding, with expenditure of approximately £1,750

Accompanying invoices document further specialist attention including repairs to the clutch cross-shaft mechanism, clutch hydraulic system flush with fresh fluid, cylinder head re-torque, replacement speedometer cable, ignition timing adjustment, engine oil and filter service and inspection of a minor oil seep from the timing case, with monitoring recommended rather than immediate repair
