2011 PORSCHE CAYMAN

Introduced in 2011, the Porsche Cayman R represented the most focused and lightweight version of the 987-generation Cayman. Developed with an emphasis on reducing weight and sharpening driver engagement, the Cayman R featured a 55kg weight saving over the Cayman S through the use of lightweight aluminium doors, reduced sound insulation, lightweight wheels and a number of detail revisions. Ride height was lowered by 20mm, while suspension and steering were recalibrated to deliver even greater precision and agility.

Power comes from Porsche's naturally aspirated 3.4-litre flat-six engine, producing 330 bhp and driving the rear wheels through either a six-speed manual gearbox or Porsche's seven-speed PDK dual-clutch transmission. Performance is complemented by the Sport Chrono Package, while a limited-slip differential, Porsche Torque Vectoring and revised suspension geometry combined to make the Cayman R one of the finest handling road cars of its era. Produced for just a short period, it remains one of the most sought-after modern Porsche driver's cars.

Supplied new by Porsche Centre Glasgow in June 2011, this UK-supplied Cayman R is presented in the iconic combination of Guards Red over a Black leather and Alcantara interior.
