Description

This lot will be auctioned via Iconic Auctioneers at The Classic Sale at CarFest 2026 on Saturday the 29th of August - Sunday the 30th of August, The Wing, Silverstone Circuit, NN12 8TN. The price indicated is the lower auction estimate.
Built between 2021 and 2023 on a shortened 1966 Volkswagen Beetle floorpan using a Mark Roach Porsche 356 fibreglass bodyshell. Acquired by our vendor's family in March 2026 and offered on their behalf
Finished in Sky Blue with a black bonnet stripe, period-style #63 roundels and polished Fuchs-style alloy wheels. The build incorporates re-chromed original Porsche window frames, door handles and badges, together with a new laminated windscreen from Ricky Evans Motorsport and a correct Porsche 356 rear screen sourced from Joma Parts in Belgium
Powered by a Rawspeed Engine Tuning 1,904cc air-cooled flat-four, supplied new in September 2021 at a cost of £6,690, with the original itemised invoice on file. Driving through a four-speed manual gearbox, the specification includes twin EMPI 40 carburettors, a stainless steel exhaust, new engine tinware, new starter motor, a complete new wiring loom, upgraded suspension and dampers, and new steering components
Inspected by Johnson Autoworks of Leicestershire in May 2026, including a full chassis and running gear fastener check, front-end wheel alignment, steering and ball joints inspection, and the rectification of minor electrical issues. The odometer is understood to reflect the donor Volkswagen's recorded mileage and should not be regarded as the mileage covered since completion of the build
The bespoke interior features new tan trim, seats, Coverdale carpets and headlining, together with new switchgear and gauges whilst retaining some original Porsche components
Accompanied by a substantial history file including invoices from Rawspeed Engine Tuning, Ricky Evans Motorsport, Joma Parts, Roger Bray Restoration, Machine7, Heritage Parts Centre, Woolies, Complete Automobilist and Johnson Autoworks
Registered with the DVLA as a 1966 Volkswagen in the Historic taxation class, with the Rawspeed engine fully documented for a straightforward update to the V5C by the new keeper if required
