Overview
The S2000 remains Honda's purest driver's car, a front-engine, rear-wheel-drive two-seater built around that extraordinary 2.0-litre F20C. With 240 bhp extracted without forced induction and a redline tickling 9,000rpm, it rewards commitment like little else from its era. The six-speed manual is one of the slickest gearboxes fitted to any production car, and the whole package delivers a top-end rush that still feels genuinely special today.
This AP1 wears desirable Nurburgring Blue metallic over a black leather interior. It's a colour that suits the car's character perfectly, and the paint presents with good shine despite 24 years on UK roads.
In current ownership since 2006, the car has been maintained by a qualified motor engineer using genuine Honda and OE parts throughout. Recent mechanical attention includes a comprehensive brake overhaul, freshly diamond-cut wheels and new rear tyres. Underneath, the story is equally encouraging. Annual Waxoyl and Lanoguard treatments (applied with wing liners removed) have kept the underside strikingly clean for a UK roadster of this age. All the MOT Tests during current ownership have been clear Passes with no Advisories
The result is an S2000 that feels tight, sorted and ready to enjoy. If you've been waiting for a well-preserved AP1, this one ticks a lot of boxes.
