EXTERIOR

Finished in classic Black, this rare Alfasud Sprint presents in very clean, show-ready condition. The paintwork is exceptional with a deep shine and a superb finish. Importantly, the body is incredibly tidy with no visible rust, corrosion or dents, and the panel fitment is very good. The clean, angular styling is complemented by the more purposeful Quadrifoglio Verde specification including a green scudetto, green bumper trims, and 14-inch 8-hole alloy wheels – all first-rate. The later Sprint’s revised front end, flush-fitting headlamps, slim window surrounds, and characteristic C-pillar detailing give the car a particularly handsome appearance. The exterior trim, lights, badges, and glass are all in fine order.

INTERIOR

The interior of this Alfasud Sprint is a feast for the eyes. The original black cloth sports seats present with almost no wear, with the distinctive green detailing adding a subtle sporting touch. The door cards, dashboard, and switchgear are also in superb order. The original three-spoke sports steering wheel is pleasingly still fitted and remains in very good condition, and in the footwells the spotless green carpets are well protected by a set of Alfa Romeo-embroidered overmats.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

The 1.5-litre flat-four boxer engine is one of the defining features of the Alfasud Sprint, offering a distinctive soundtrack and surprisingly lively performance. In Quadrifoglio Verde specification, the engine produces around 105 bhp and is paired with a close-ratio five-speed manual gearbox. This combination gives the Sprint an engaging and responsive character, with the lightweight front-wheel-drive chassis making it particularly enjoyable on a twisting road.

The engine bay is clean and well presented, with the original ‘matching numbers’ engine still in place. The five-speed gearbox selects all gears correctly. The clutch operates as it should and the car still drives with the light, agile feel for which the Alfasud is renowned. It has recently had an in-house inspection with a report available.

HISTORY FILE

Manufactured on the 19th September 1986, this beautiful, low mileage example was first registered in Greece. Amazingly, the original Greek service booklet it still present containing details of work carried out over the years. Subsequently, the car was moved to Italy and then in 2023 it was imported by the current owner into the UK, where it has been carefully stored in his private collection. Within the history there is a document from Alfa Romeo confirming the manufacture date and colour combination, import paperwork, MOT certificates, owner's manuals, an Alfa Romeo document folder, and a spare key.
