The e-2008 remains one of the best-looking small electric SUVs on the road, and GT specification sharpens it further with 18-inch diamond-cut aerodynamic alloy wheels with coloured inserts, full LED headlights, Peugeot's distinctive three-claw LED rear light signature and a body-coloured chequered front grille unique to the electric model. The interior is where Peugeot really pulled ahead of its rivals, and GT is the best of it. It feels considerably more special inside than anything else at this money. The electric drivetrain is smooth and surprisingly brisk. The 100kW (136ps) motor delivers 260Nm the instant you touch the accelerator, so it pulls away from junctions with real urgency and stays quiet and relaxed at motorway speeds. Three drive modes Eco, Normal and Sport let you choose between maximum range and maximum response, and the Brake mode adds stronger regenerative braking for stop-start traffic. The 50kWh battery gives an official WLTP range of up to 193 miles, which in practice means around 150 miles in real-world mixed driving and considerably more around town comfortably a week of commuting and school runs for most people. Charging is quick when you need it: plug into a 100kW rapid charger and it goes from empty to 80% in around 30 minutes, while a 7.4kW home wallbox fills it overnight in roughly eight hours. Charge at home on an EV tariff and the cost per mile is a small fraction of a petrol equivalent. Practicality is genuinely good, with a 434-litre boot, a proper five-door body and plenty of rear space for child seats or adults. It's fully ULEZ and clean-air-zone compliant, and servicing is minimal no oil changes, no filters, no belts, no clutch and no exhaust. Importantly for a car of this mileage, Peugeot's high-voltage battery warranty runs for 8 years or 100,000 miles, guaranteeing at least 70% of the battery's original capacity, and it transfers to you as the next owner.
