2004 VAUXHALL VX220

I have owned this VX220 Turbo since 2021. Throughout my ownership it has been used extensively and upgraded comprehensively. With 270bhp and 314ft lbs of torque it is super quick. Please see below for more details.

Key facts...

Bodywork: Full respray in original Coral Blue, extensive PPF and ceramic coated, 2024. (approximately £7000). None of the bubbles and damage that affects most cars. Genuine carbon fibre rear wing, side scoops and front splitter (originals included in sale with side scoops and rear wing resprayed at same time as whole car).

Engine: 270bhp, 314ft/lbs torque on Courtenay’s rolling road in 2022. 3in Tullet exhaust, charge cooler and alloy radiator.

Interior: Seats, door cards and gear lever centre console retrimed by Ross Hogg-Robinson of Trim My Ride, 2022.

General…

I bought this car in 2021 and have spent significant sums getting it to where I want in terms of finish and reliability. Current mileage is around 78000 and in the last three years it has covered around 3000 miles each year including annual road trips into Europe. It is epic fun and epically fast!

Mechanical details…

In 2019 the car received a suspension refresh (including Spitfire toe link kit and brace) and much more from MMG at a cost of over £5000.

A full charge-cooler kit has been fitted.

Max88 fitted an alloy radiator for me, along with T7 heater kit, front tow bracket and full 3in Tullet exhaust including 200 cell cat.

Timing belt, water pump, engine side mounts, ball joints all round, alternator and much much more all done in my ownership.

Desirable 16in/17in wheel combination fitted with Yokohama AD08RS tyres – 205/45 front. 235/40 rear.

I have gradually improved and sorted so much on this car. It’s not perfect (these cars never are) but it has proved reliable on numerous road trips and regular use. I fully realise I won’t get back anything like what I have spent on this car (at least as much as I spent on buying it!) and I still absolutely love the look of it and the performance (and turbo whistles!). But I’m looking to move on to something new.
