That update brought a series of genuinely worthwhile improvements over the original Model 3, and it makes a real difference to how the car feels to live with. Unlike the older cells, an LFP pack is designed to be charged to 100 percent every day without harming it, and LFP is widely regarded as the most durable and longest-lasting chemistry Tesla uses. Performance is brisk: 241bhp driving the rear wheels, 0-62mph in 5.3 seconds and a 140mph top speed, delivered in near silence with no gearbox and no lag. Official WLTP range is up to 278 miles, and on a Tesla Supercharger it accepts up to 170kW, so a top-up stop is a matter of minutes rather than hours. Access to the Supercharger network remains the single biggest practical advantage of Tesla ownership, and the built-in route planner handles charging stops for you automatically. Inside, the 15-inch central touchscreen runs everything, and over-the-air software updates mean the car has gained features since it left the factory. It also has the full-length panoramic glass roof, heated front and rear seats, twelve-way power front seats, premium audio, phone-as-key entry, dual-zone climate control, Autopilot with traffic-aware cruise and autosteer, 360-degree camera views and Sentry Mode.
