In poor weather the dual-motor system is a real asset, shuffling torque between the axles faster than any mechanical system can. Range and charging are where Tesla still leads. The route planner is built into the car, so it calculates charging stops for you, preconditions the battery on approach and tells you exactly how long you will be plugged in. On a Tesla Supercharger it goes from 10 to 80 percent in around 30 minutes, and access to the Supercharger network remains the single biggest practical advantage of Tesla ownership. At home, the 11kW onboard charger fills it overnight. Inside, the 15-inch central touchscreen handles everything, and the car receives over-the-air software updates that genuinely add features over time - this one will have gained capability since it left the factory. It also has the full-length panoramic glass roof, heated front and rear seats, a heated steering wheel, twelve-way power front seats with memory, premium audio, wireless phone charging, phone-as-key entry, dual-zone climate control and a heat pump for efficient winter heating. Autopilot is standard, combining traffic-aware cruise control with autosteer to hold the car centred in its lane. Cameras all round feed a live 360-degree view, and Sentry Mode records around the car when parked. Practicality is better than a saloon suggests, with 561 litres of total luggage space including the front boot, and a wide-opening bootlid. Tesla's battery and drive unit warranty runs for 8 years or 120,000 miles, guaranteeing at least 70 percent capacity, and it transfers to you - cover into 2030.
