RS CARBON CERAMIC BRAKING SYSTEM

At the centre of this RS3’s specification is one of the rarest and most expensive factory options offered for the 8V. Costing £4,695 when new, the RS Carbon Ceramic Braking System combines 370mm front discs with ceramic-specific 8-piston calipers.

Compared with the standard steel system, the ceramic brakes offer increased thermal stability and resistance to brake fade while reducing unsprung weight by approximately 12KG. Their ceramic construction also creates considerably less corrosive brake dust and offers a slower wear rate than conventional steel discs.

Very few UK RS3 8Vs were configured with this option, making the braking system the defining feature of an already extensive £16,000 factory specification.

DAZA NON-OPF DRIVETRAIN

Powered by Audi’s 400PS 2.5-litre DAZA five-cylinder engine, this earlier facelift RS3 benefits from lightweight aluminium construction, reducing engine weight by 26KG compared with the previous cast-iron unit.

Crucially, it predates the petrol particulate filter fitted to later DNWA-powered examples. Combined with the factory RS Sports Exhaust, this preserves the louder and more distinctive five-cylinder soundtrack associated with the earlier facelift cars.

The vehicle remains completely standard and unmodified, retaining its original factory engine, transmission, software and exhaust configuration.

100-HOUR PRE-SALE PREPARATION

This RS3 has completed Automotive Addiction’s comprehensive 100-hour Pre-Sale Preparation Process, beginning with Audi-grade electronic diagnostics before undergoing our detailed five-part inspection.

This incorporates a 260-point mechanical inspection and road test, 150-point visual inspection, service-history assessment and comprehensive originality verification.

The inspection process was followed by up to 60 hours of meticulous in-house detailing, beginning with an extensive multi-stage decontamination before the wheels were removed to allow the alloy wheels, RS Carbon Ceramic Brakes, wheel arches, suspension components and intricate areas to be carefully cleaned and refined.

The engine bay, door shuts, exterior trim and other commonly overlooked areas were addressed before the Glacier White paintwork underwent multi-stage machine correction to improve gloss, clarity and consistency. A comprehensive interior deep clean completed the process, with the Fine Nappa Leather, Alcantara, carpets, controls and intricate cabin surfaces individually treated.
