1999 BMW E36 328i Coupé Manual – 29,295 Miles

1999 BMW E36 328i Coupé, finished in Schwarz II with a 5-speed manual gearbox and showing just 29,295 miles from new.

The mileage is supported by original paper MOT certificates dating back to 2002, with the original service book stamped up to 24,230 miles. The car also comes with three original keys.

The interior has survived particularly well. It retains its original cloth sport seats, which show very little wear, while the dashboard remains free from the cracking often seen on E36s and the original headlining is still firmly in place with no sagging. The carpets, trim and controls are also in very good condition.

Externally, the car is finished in Schwarz II and has been fitted with a high-quality German-manufactured M3-style body kit and genuine BMW DS1 alloy wheels.

During my ownership some surface corrosion was found around the wheel arches. The affected areas were stripped back and repainted rather than simply touched in. The bodywork presents very well overall, although it would benefit from a professional machine polish/paint correction to bring the finish up another level.

Mechanically, the car retains its original 2.8-litre M52 straight-six and 5-speed manual drivetrain and drives very well. An Inspection II service was carried out in November 2025, and more recently the front brakes have received new discs, pads and calipers.

For completeness, the factory immobiliser has stopped functioning. I had this diagnosed and the working theory is the remotes are not retaining memory.

It’s a lovely E36 to drive, with the combination of the 2.8-litre straight-six, manual gearbox and exceptionally low mileage making it a particularly interesting example.
