Description
8,200 miles | TGZ 620 reg | Factory press car | Northamptonshire
I’m reluctantly putting my 620R up for sale. This is a particularly special car, not least because it started life as Caterham’s factory press car and is the car featured by PistonHeads, where the 620R was named the Best Track Car of the Last 25 Years.
The car:
* 2022 620R SV, 8,200 miles
* 310bhp supercharged engine, mapped by the “Two Steves” — no cold-start issues
* Sadev 6-speed sequential gearbox
* Double-D cage
* Heated carbon Tillets
* Lowered floors
* JWM Quantum One suspension, fitted new in early 2026 — original suspension included
* 13” wheels, professionally refinished in matte black
* Kumho V70s that have done 1.5 track days
* Shift lights and after market oil temp and pressure gauge
* Full unused weather gear
* Carbon half doors and roll cage mirrors
* 280mm Momo suede steering wheel
* 2 keys + fuel key
History:
The second owner was exceptionally fastidious with the car and there is a £20k+ file of invoices. The car is a credit to him
Most notably:
* Mid-2025: gearbox rebuilt and new clutch fitted by SWR as preventative maintenance
* Late 2025: full cosmetic respray in original Isle of Man Green, followed by full-body PPF
* The respray was purely cosmetic — the car has never been damaged
* Early 2026: brand-new JWM Quantum One suspension fitted
* August 2026 / 150 miles ago: gear oil serviced by McMillan Motorsport, and rear brake pads replaced
The car is genuinely immaculate. The body is fully PPF’d and, as far as I can see, doesn’t have a single stone chip.
Since I bought it:
I’m the third owner and bought it at the end of April 2026. Since then I’ve replaced both rear LED units, fitted high-level brake/indicator lights, had the wheels professionally refinished and fitted the smaller Momo wheel.
It is HPI clear, accident-free and has no outstanding finance. MOT until 31/05/2027.
Why sell?
I’ve managed one track evening since April.
The simple truth is that a 620R is too quick for me on the road. It’s an incredible car, but I’m not using it anywhere near enough to justify keeping it.
There are a couple of very minor imperfections which I’ll mention for completeness: approximately a 1cm windscreen chip that should be repairable, and the “e” from both Caterham side stickers have decided to leave.
£50k firm.
I’m open to a PX either way for a similarly prepped and immaculate road/track car — GT3 / Turbo to 991 or E9x M3.
Any inspection welcome. I genuinely think this is one of the best 620Rs currently available.
