ONE OF THE MOST MEMORABLE PORSCHES WE HAVE EVER SOLD – AND NOW IT'S BACK

Every now and again a Porsche comes along that simply captures the Porsche community’s imagination. This was one of them. When we last publicly offered this extraordinary 997.1 911 Turbo Manual, it became quite possibly the most talked-about, shared and lusted-after Porsche we had ever brought to market. Years later, we still get asked about the Dark Olive Turbo. So, you can imagine how excited we are to have it back.

Finished in sensational Dark Olive Metallic over Exclusive Cocoa leather, it can appear almost black before revealing a deep olive green and beautiful gold fleck as the light catches it. Combined with Cocoa, it is genuinely special.

And then there's the specification. At its heart is the legendary Mezger engine, crucially paired with the increasingly coveted six-speed manual gearbox, alongside Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB), rear axle locking differential and an extensive list of factory and Porsche Exclusive options.

Today it has covered just 42,000 miles, has 4 former keepers, and the kind of provenance a collector or investor dreams of. It remains every bit as captivating to us as when we first sold it.

The market has changed considerably since then. The best analogue and modern-classic Porsches are becoming increasingly difficult to replace, with exceptional examples separating themselves from ordinary cars. Manual Mezger-engined Turbos sit right at the heart of that movement. These are cars people increasingly want to own, show, drive and collect – and history continues to show that buying the right collectible Porsche has very often proved a remarkably sensible purchase for the lucky few.

But this is still a 911 Turbo: devastatingly fast, wonderfully usable and powered by one of Porsche's greatest road-going engines.

There will always be another silver 997 Turbo. Finding another manual Mezger Turbo in Dark Olive Metallic over Cocoa, with PCCB, locking differential and this specification is an entirely different proposition.

We were genuinely sorry to see this one leave us last time. We can't quite believe we've been given the opportunity to offer it again.
