2004 TOYOTA MR2

I have owned this great little MR2 for five years/11k miles and it has been really reliable. Being a 2004 car, it is the face-lift model with the 6 speed 'box and LSD and it also benefits from AC, which I believe was a rare option. It has the usual leather seats and electric windows and mirrors and even a quaintly retro electric aerial.

In no way a garage queen, it has always lived outdoors but is totally dry. The previous owner had kept a good service record and it had benefitted from a recent clutch and a new hood. He had also fitted a Scorpion sports exhaust and upgraded the ICE with a JVC DAB head unit and improved speakers. It has a fresh MoT and it has covered 116k miles but, hey, it's a Toyota!

In my ownership I have kept a substantial history to document servicing, cosmetic and remedial work and some light modification to enhance its fast-road credentials. These include:

New internal drain components.

Remedial bodywork to all the usual MR2 weak spots and refurbished wheels. (All work carried out by a Toyota approved shop)

The suspension is fully poly-bushed and has BC Racing coil-overs with 3/4 kg/mm Fr/Rr springs, professionally corner-weighted and set up (by Ben at String Theory) at a sensible ride height and geometry to be usable on UK B roads without too punishing a ride.

The car has never been used on track, but I did once get a time at Shelsley Walsh which would have put me in the middle of the other MR2s which compete there, so maybe it could be the basis for your next track day car.

Despite the mechanical care I have given this car it nevertheless shows the wear of 22 years on UK roads, so please don't imagine a concours winning condition.
