2005 RENAULT CLIO

What a blinding car!! They just do not make a hot hatch like this that’s affordable to the masses. The Clio is a small car, the A pillars are super thin and when you turn around in the seat you can see every corner, a rarity in today’s cars. Then to put a 2.0L engine in the front is just bonkers. It has heaps of torque and a lovely little exhaust note. The LSD helps with traction for those more spirited drives but genuinely this car ticks so many boxes. If you’re looking at this you would have spent some time researching these cars and know exactly what this is about. The cup chassis is great, 21 years on and I’m pretty sure most cars would struggle down a back road to keep with such a hot hatch.

I have owned it coming up to 9 months and put a lot of hard work, love and time into refining what’s an amazing platform and doing the work needed to keep these cars alive and solid. A lot of work has been undertaken by Chris at Beaniesport previously, the go to place for these cars. As seen in the pictures there have been some large bills in the last few years which means this car is future proof for some time to come. Benefiting from a blackline diff fitted in January alongside refreshing drive shafts and some exhaust work to keep it solid and performing well. Coolant and engine oil has been replaced at the same time and not long after a ITG carbon airbox was fitted to release that induction roar. Basic maintenance has been carried out including replacing spark plugs, HT leads and coil pack to prevent any mishaps, alongside 02 sensor using all genuine parts. Brakes have been bled and the car benefits from EBC yellowstuff pads braided hoses all round to increase the feel of the brake pedal. I put the car on studs and nuts with spacers to get a more desirable track. Also fitted are a new set of Michelin PS3 tyres which have transformed the way the car covers ground, a much more supple tyre and forgiving on the country roads. It has a scorpion cat back exhaust and a sports cat fitted.

As for the interior I have repainted the center trims that get sticky after years and refitted new button pack to the heater control panel. The car has a phase 1 172 Clio gear knob which is perfectly weighted for the gearchanges. The seatbelts have been removed and cleaned to get that bright silver back to life. The seats are in great condition considering the age being half leather half suede complete with Renaultsport logo brings back that nostalgic comfy yet supportive seat. The personel steering wheel is a nice touch with cruise control retrofit is a nice little touch also. Two sets of floor mats will be included genuine new Renaultsport mats used in the summer and a tailored set “182 cup” in grey for the winter months.

Exterior, the car is in overall great condition. There are a few dents over the car to be expected but generally the photos speak for themselves. These could be removed if wanted at additional cost. Being honest there is a scrape on the roof from a mountain bike removal from previous owner. It never really bothered me but again can be looked into if required. I have bought a spare bumper for it to have painted alongside good used grills to go in, as new are very hard to find. This new freshly painted front bumper will be included in the price listed. The headlights have been sanded relacquered and PPF’d to future proof them and have come out amazing, better than new. All of the bulbs in the car are new and have been replaced front and rear clusters + number plate lights. The HID lights are 6500k replacements ands full beam are LED super bright bulbs giving a daylight experience when using. Fog lights are also LED bulbs again giving ample light. The Speedline wheels that are fitted compliment the car well with the contrasting grey colour with white script.

The car will come with a box of spares that I have had with the car including ABS pump, Standard steering wheel with horn, various bushes/ inserts for gearbox/engine mounting, standard wheel bolts. Standard airbox, thermostat and a few other odds and ends. To summarize the car is a lovely thing to drive and own and will sorely be missed but wanting to free up money to put into house/ new projects. 100% will have missed things off but any question feel free to contact.
