Description
Reluctantly offered for sale due to changing family circumstances is my genuine 1991 Rover Mini Cooper, complete with matching VIN and engine numbers as confirmed by the V5C.
This isn't simply a tidy Mini that's had cosmetic work—it underwent a comprehensive restoration completed in 2017 and has covered just under 2,000 miles since. The objective was to return the car as closely as possible to original factory specification while significantly improving its mechanical condition and long-term reliability.
Body & Restoration
The shell was completely stripped and inspected before all necessary structural repairs were professionally completed by the renowned Wood & Pickett. The car was then repainted in the correct factory colour, with the headlining also professionally replaced during the restoration.
Anyone familiar with the Mini scene will know Wood & Pickett's reputation as one of Britain's most respected Mini coachbuilders, making them the obvious choice for the body restoration.
Mechanical Specification
Mechanically, the car has been rebuilt from the ground up.
Highlights include:
- Matching VIN & engine numbers
- Engine rebored to +0.040" (approx. 1310cc)

- Genuine Mini Spares components used wherever possible

The car starts easily, drives exceptionally well and has been regularly maintained since restoration.
Interior
The original Cooper interior has been retained, including the correct seats and door cards.
The original steering wheel was professionally re-leathered in January 2026 using the original leather specification with the correct red stitching.

Condition
This is an honest Mini that's been driven and enjoyed since restoration rather than hidden away.
Naturally there are a few very minor cosmetic signs of careful use, such as the occasional small stone mark and light wear consistent with a well-maintained classic, but it presents extremely well throughout.
Why I'm Selling
This is genuinely a reluctant sale due to changing family circumstances.
I've owned the car throughout the restoration and carried out much of the mechanical rebuild myself, with specialist work such as machining and balancing entrusted to recognised professionals.
As a mechanical design engineer by profession, I've always believed in doing jobs properly rather than taking shortcuts. Every component was either carefully inspected and reused if it met my standards or replaced with quality parts where appropriate.
Every time I take the Mini out it still puts a smile on my face, and if circumstances were different it simply wouldn't be for sale.
I'm looking for someone who'll appreciate the time, effort and attention to detail that's gone into restoring and maintaining it.
Viewing is highly recommended as the car, documentation and overall quality are best appreciated in person.
